"Ever wonder how they found the Boston Marathon bombers in just a few days in April 2013? This picture below might help you understand. It was taken in Canada and shows about 700,000 people?"

"Click the link and then click on the picture and click on a small part of the crowd and click a couple of times -- wait -- click a few more times and see how clear each individual face becomes each time you click. You can also use the wheel on your mouse to zoom in."

"This picture was taken with a 70,000 x 30,000 pixel camera (2100 Mega Pixels.) These cameras are not sold to the public." Hopefully, this technology can go a long way to combating terrorism or at least discovering the culprits. The camera can identify a face among a multitude of people. It's not going to be so easy to hide in a crowd anymore!"

So, not just another face in the crowd anymore, eh?

Time to work up that anti-facial recognition makeup style I imagine..... http://cvdazzle.com/

On the link provided by Trevor it says:

The Vancouver Canucks Fan Zone along Georgia St. for Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final was captured at 5:46 pm on June 15, 2011. It is made up of 216 photos (12 across by 18 down) stitched together, taken over a 15-minute span, and is not supposed to represent a single moment in time. The final hi-res file is 69,394 X 30,420 pixels or 2,110 megapixels. Special thanks to Bonita Howard and CBC Real Estate."

1 camera but 216 separate photos over 15 min. Incredible total picture, but could it be a single 10 megapixel camera? I don't know photography that well.

For me though it's quite interesting to see how far things has come. I was involved in some of the initial image acquisition technology and face matching algorithms development in the mid-90's.

Big brother watching every move you make... No thanks. Hold on let me get my tinfoil hat before I type anymore.....

I wish there was more preventative technology rather that catching people after they have blown everybody up.
