A Filofax. Was in London in the '80s and thought I should get organized. Bought £100 worth of book and inserts. Got about 5 steps outside the store and thought "WTF?!!!" Turned around and returned it.

Sony Mini Disk

MP3 was just starting to become mainstream (but the iPod was still a couple of years away) but I bucked the trend and dropped big bucks on a Mini Disk player.

While it was smaller than a diskman, blank mini disks were crazy expensive and putting tracks on a disk took ages

Used it for about 6 months and then bought an MP3 player

The only reason the Robot Vacuum cleaner is not used as much is because the last time it cleaned my son's room it went under the bed and then stopped saying "please remove foreign object " lookaround.gif hence we had to close the door to that room.

Then it persisted in always heading to rug in the lounge and kept getting tangled in it and we both got sick of getting up to move it each time it stopped again saying the same thing. rotfl.gif

as for the soup maker your intentions were good at the time hungry.gif

I got a robot vac last year. It was great until the cat figured out it could ride the thing around the living room

Pretty sure my overweight cat overloaded it cause as soon as he jumps on the vac, it freaks out and stops working

Shark Shield Freedom7. Never been in the water with it. Got it for the missus for piece of mind for me mostly for a trip to the Solomons. She refused to wear it. I thought I might need it if I went to a sharky area. Apparently the batteries have to remain charged. They have been dead for 3 years now. $650 down the drain. And the jury is well and truly out on whether they work or not. Oh, and a rice cooker purchased with credit card points. Never been used.

Hooboy. I have waaay too many items bought on impulse that I have never ever used.

  • Nintendo Wii
  • RC Airplane (thankfully I sold this last year)
  • A couple of Blu-Ray movies... even though I don't have a Blu-Ray player
  • A two-handed broadsword (sold the same week I bought it)
  • Dozens of calendars and posters

Many more that I've forgotten about over the years, but the broadsword was probably one of the oddest things I've bought on impulse.

Nearly pulled the trigger on a 3D printer 2 weeks ago. Common sense prevailed at the last second.

A pair of $300 dress shoes I have worn once and may not wear again till I am buried. They look great feel amazing but I am afraid to scuff them up. So I went to a thrift store and bought a super nice pair that I want to wear around the farm, they are so bloody comfy and very nice looking to boot........... $7.99 + tax.

The wife brings it up at least once a month.

Bought a couple guns on impulse (226 x5 all around and an ar15).

Got a Cameron putter, which only gets used when I go Arizona for winter vacation.

Bought a new 3dtv, which required me to replace my Blu Ray player and receiver to watch 3d movies. Then farther screwed the purchase up by buying the wrong 3d glasses.

Bought one of those as well to use with Tom. It wasn't an expensive one. Cost $200

lasted 10 minutes before I ran it into a tree. Destroyed.

3d Blu-rays. I can't say I watch a movie in 3d much anymore, even though Avatar in 2009 made 3d movies popular again. These days, I'm happy just to watch a movie in 2d.

What was I thinking? Really, who needs more than one private jet?

We missed you at Havanathon by the way.
