Overproof Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Thought id leave some space on my hard drives and leave the torrents alone for a minute Started on a free trial Australian Netflix, took the geo blocking off for the US Netflix. Do yourself a favor. Crazy amounts of content not only on Netflix but my Apple TV also. I'm late with it but currently watching (binging) the first season of American Horror Story. Fantastic acting and writing. So fast paced it does my head in! Netflix and Chill is actually Netflix and chill in my house right now.
MIKA27 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Hey. Torrenting....What's that!? We can't say or condone such acts. I purchased legally Torguard and stumbled upon the fact that one can geoblock Australian Netflix and view the U.S version. Yes indeed, a great many titles, almost overwhelming IMO but very much well worth it compared to watching rubbish on TV. Enjoy the Chilling 1
rmill3r Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 For Netflix, check out Bloodline if you have access to it. I think it's kinda flying under the radar next to the likes of Orange is the New Black and House of Cards, but it's an excellent mystery/family drama with a kinda neat old noir tone to it. Great acting and a slow, but worthwhile, build up.

Fosgate Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Oh yeah. and Flash. I'm not impressed with Netflix much anymore. Seems like the only thing they are adding for movies are all B movies and not releasing much new stuff.

Overproof Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 Just read this today. https://media.netflix.com/en/company-blog/evolving-proxy-detection-as-a-global-service I'm hoping the proxy services out there are one step ahead.
MIKA27 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Just read this today. https://media.netflix.com/en/company-blog/evolving-proxy-detection-as-a-global-service I'm hoping the proxy services out there are one step ahead. Netflix have been trying to do this for quite sometime and VPN's etc are one step ahead.
MIKA27 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Netflix Won't Crack Down On Aussie VPN Users Netflix’s geoblocking crackdown is “doomed to fail”. That’s the word from Adam Turner at the SMH, who says that the streaming giant would be mad to even make a serious effort to restrict its users to only the region they signed up in or are currently located within geographically. It has always and will always continue to be possible to find a workaround to access Netflix’s worldwide library of content, according to the SMH article, with innumerable different proxy and VPN and DNS obfuscator providers — and other technological tricks yet to be discovered — popping up faster than Netflix could knock them down. Even if it wanted to. This most recent move comes on the back of Netflix tripling the number of countries it is available in, with upwards of 200 regions around the world having access to their own localised version of the service. Regional differences in the availability of content means that some regions like Portugal have comparatively few Netflix titles, and even some Originals series are tied to traditional TV and cable TV networks in those regions rather than Netflix — the original creator of series like House Of Cards andOrange Is The New Black. There’s no doubt Netflix’s recent announcement about its geographical crackdown is a move to appease its partners in content distribution, whether those companies — like Foxtel — are in competition with it or not. Netflix needs to be seen as a good global citizen, and can’t be thought of as lax in enforcing the copyright of the distributors it purchases performance rights from. But just how hard it tries to enforce those restrictions remains to be seen, and whether those restrictions can confound the best and brightest minds of the internet is another question entirely 1
JohnS Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I read this interesting article yesterday. If Netflix were serious, they'd cancel subscriptions based on the locations of their customers' credit cards. I think Adam Turner stated in his article that this was unlikely to happen. 1
MIKA27 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Netflix Is Already Blocking US Content Streamed Via VPN In Australia Earlier this month, Netflix announced that it was cracking down on VPNs and proxies used to access video in other countries. It wasn’t an empty threat: the company has started blocking US content that’s accessed that way from Australia. uFlix, a company that allows people in Australia to change their IP address and DNS settings to circumnavigate geographical restrictions, reports that some of its users are already unable to access content overseas as they have done in the past. Netflix has apparently been warning people that they “seem to be using an unblocker or proxy. Please turn off any of these services and try again.” While the blocks appear to be affecting just a small number of people at the moment, uFlix says that it expects the numbers to increase. You can probably also expect the trend to spread outside of Australia, too. But it hurts us most. MIKA: I use Torguard and all works well still thus far.
MIKA27 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 This Site Lets You Search Netflix's Global Library Netflix are cracking down on the use of VPNs to access catalogues from different regions, but if you’re lucky enough to still have yours working for you this could be the key to finding exactly what you want to watch, when you want to watch it. The unofficial Netflix online Global Search (uNoGs) is a huge searchable database of everything on Netflix, anywhere in the world. You can search by availability, title, genre, runtime and year of release. You can also filter by Netflix and IMDB ratings. uNoGs also gives full audio and subtitle details, IMDB listings and Rotten Tomatoes listings for each entry. You’ll simply need to switch your VPN (Which is not illegal) to the region you want to access. uNoGs even gives you the information on which VPN, proxy or DNS provider to use for the content you want. TorrentFreak spoke with the creator of uNoGS operator, Brian. “I initially built the site just for myself because the few sites that were providing a service like this were extremely limited in terms of search functionality,” Brian says. “I wanted to be able to see what was available in every country, when it was added, when it was supposed to expire and when it actually expired. Once I completed the initial build for myself I decided to share it with everyone.”
Overproof Posted April 11, 2016 Author Posted April 11, 2016 My VPN no longer works The wave was good but it's back to the torrential high seas!
