El Presidente Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I did have a smile Opened a box of Partagas Serie D 5 yesterday and noticed that the cigar on the "far right"........did not match the others Let's face it, it would take a real conoisseur to pick up the fact that it is a block of wood and not a cigar "Short boxes" are not as uncommon as one might think.
Guest rob Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 That's a pretty good reason to have your boxes opened and inspected!
El Presidente Posted November 11, 2015 Author Posted November 11, 2015 Beautiful Cigars! They were indeed a very good seam...barring this one anomaly
TCContender Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Its all about the marketing, Rob: "Tight box press, firm draw, strong notes of cedar." 2

maxcjs0101 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Did the bottom still had 13 sticks or there's another block in there making the box 1 cigar short?
El Presidente Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 Did the bottom still had 13 sticks or there's another block in there making the box 1 cigar short? 24 sticks only (12 on bottom layer) Block was placed in right hand side of top layer
finecigar Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Never happened to me but let's say hypothetically you purchase a blind box, sealed, and they arrive like this... Do most vendors/sources send you a single out, account credit, or how does that work? Just curious...
investandprosper Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Oh man, I've never seen this! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SCgarman Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Do they think mistakes like this will fly in the US if and when CC's become legal? They are going to have to do a bit better to convince a Padron Anniversary cigar smoker to quit buying Padron in favor of a box of Habanos. Looks like the bands are not even lined upright and uniform like they should be. Looks like the Q.C. department was off for the day.
soutso Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 You can see some of the perils of being a vendor here. If a new customer requested a sealed, never before opened box and received this they'd be screaming that they were sold fakes. They can go online and exposed the 'fake' selling vendor etc The customer is always right my arse!

That becomes the buyers problem be it cracked cigars, missing cigars or mold. They can seek a refund via Habanos SA cuba. Good luck 1
MIKA27 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Beautiful Cigars! Especially that nice one on the right
JohnS Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Apart from the obvious missing cigar from this box, the other thing I thought upon reading this thread is how few Partagas Serie D No.5 24:24 offerings there's been in 2015.

Fair point John. I picked some nice ones yesterday and they will be up next week. Overall, there hasn't been any real standout shipments so you haven't seen them on 24:24 very often in 2015.
