sikfrayme Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 As I get older I seem to notice that I have, much like my elders, developed a habit of having rituals for when I go out drinking, and more importantly enjoying a cigar at home. Most of them are completely non-sensical, but I am sure your favorite pro athletes probably have stranger rituals. For me, its wearing this oversized straw hat to protect myself from the sun (as my patio is unshaded), having the bluetooth speaker playing some sort of soothing music, using the lighter I got from my first visit to the Grand Havana Room, using our formal dining chairs, and a big bottle of ice water. What are yours?...
BuckeyeSmoker Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I also listen to soothing music and usually the same playlist aka my "cigar relaxin" playlist. And i almost always wear the same light fleece pullover regardless of weather. Nice comfy oversized jacket that is my "smoking jacket". Comfortable and relaxed, quite enjoyable. 1
El Presidente Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 A nice ashtray. Always on my left. Cutter,Lighter, wine/beverage....Always on my right. Hip hop or R&B in the background Laptop in the middle 2
shlomo Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I usually cut or punch my cigar. Then cold draw for a moment. Then torch the foot and let it sit for another moment. I almost always have the cigar in my left hand, so ashtray on left. Rarely drink with a cigar, but when I do its on the right. Then I get my tablet out and play clash of clans for 2 hours....lol. I seldom pay attention to the cigar. If I look down and see it's almost nubbed, it was a good cigar. I HATE fussing over it other than occasional touch ups. Far from particular though. All those things could backwards and it's fine too....

KGM Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Tools and ashtray on the left (unless group, then middle of table), drink on the right, and tablet with a good book or web surfing in the middle. I also use a fleece for a smoking jacket! They are comfy, and easy to wash. 1
Homebrew Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Pull over, turn on the hazard flashers, set the parking brake, clip the cap, toast the foot, and fire that puppy up. Release the air brakes, turn my turn signal on, and merge back into traffic. On my days off, I really just cut out the flashers, and brake parts. Dave (A.K.A. Homebrew) 1
Colt45 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I'm not sure I do anything I'd consider ritualistic, but I do have something I might consider a quirk. I'm right handed but I always, always hold my cigar in my left hand.
RijkdeGooier Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Only ritual I always practice; light the cigar. Otherwise not so many rituals? 1
