QuaiDorkay Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I've been around the forum for 6yrs or so, every couple of years I tend to forget my info and create a new forum handle, no conspiracy, just a space cadet. My wife tires of the cable/internet provider du jour which changes my email, compounding the issue. I recently read a post mentioning some scammer or something but in the description it said he had been lurking around the site, only had a couple posts, never introduced himself and I got to thinking... that sounds like me! As not to disrespect the hosts, here we go. I enjoy not thinking, great CC's, reading others posts and going really f'ing deep on a 24:24 now and then. I'm half know-it-all French, the other half Rich and Gluttonous American so probably best I remain a lurking-non-poster, although that could change now that I have stretched these fingers while puffing on a beautiful quai d'orsay gran corona from 9/2005. I grew up in the Caribbean, school in the States and France, currently living with my wife, three daughters and grand-daughter in Arlington, VA... actually living the dream. I opened a cigar & martini bar in 1994 as a young manager and was able to swell my collection and refine my palate but every couple of years I need to re-stock the pipeline. Whatever the site was named, Rob's suggestions have always taken care of me with great service, more so this year than most. THANK YOU FOR THAT. Although I seem to have quite a few boxes of LE's and Regionals, I have always believed in good quality regular production beauties. I like all vitals and all brands as long as they are CC's. As a result of nice and curious acquaintances at my local lounge, I have provided samplers here and their that match their NC palates. They respond with elation and a sampler of their own. I take a weak and give them a try, 4 times now that I can think of, and end the week thinking how badly I want to get back to my rotation. NC's can be beautiful with envious marketing but from the 1st third to the last third a total and complete disappointment to me after all of these years. My wife got Bob Staebell to make me a 52" Aristocrat and although I love it, I can't help but still use my 150qt igloo's. I have a basement full of the white ones with the quick hatch door on top. A xikar gel jar in each one and done. Never had an issue with storage after that discovery... over 20 yrs of sleeping beauties on my lower level and I am a man totally at peace. Hope this serves as a proper intro, long overdo, but with respect... 1
