El Presidente Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Woke up early this morning to watch dawn rise over the beach. Not a bad view by any means i had arranged an early charter fish and crabbing tour on the Noosa river with Tom. while we have our own boat with us, i thought it a good plan to go out with a charter and pick the brains of the guide before ventuting out ourelves tomorrow. Forecast high winds have cruelled that plan for the rest of the week so we will head out deep into the mangroves of coolumn creek. So today was a bit of fun. Also on the giuded tour was a family of Filipinos who had never been fishing. the father was the first to land a flathead......there was almost a knife fight as the guide (Jeff) released it back into the water because it was undersized by half a centimetre. i can relate to that as i have a father who cries everytime we release a fish Old man Filipino then caught a whiting....just undersized again....it was on for all money! he didn't speak English too well so we conversed in Spanish and I thought he got the drift of legal sized fishing. then someone caught a bream that was smaller than the flathead he caught....and it was a keeper...I thought we were off to the UN. For the record Tom and I fished hard. No excuses, the fish Gods were not with us. Fillipinos 5 fish....Rob and Tom ...Nada. Great morning nonetheless. A little beach fishing this afternoon but tomorrow is our day 4
Ken Gargett Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 we had a guy who used to come to fraser with us, years ago. went nuts when a fish was released. he took the view that it was a team fishing trip and so we each owned an equal share of every fish caught. therefore, anyone releasing a fish was stealing from him. it got a smidge heavy. as trip mod, i of course did bugger all to resolve it.
anacostiakat Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 The socialist fisherman! Great pics!
busdriver Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 There is always what I call a "hot hand" in the boat. That's who catches the most fish even if everyone is doing to same thing. If you can figure out why that is you can make a mint. Sounds like a great day none the less!
