Scrubber I am right there with you for the most part... except this line curdled my eyeballs :)

I am sure Clive is in it for the right reasons as well rotfl.gifrotfl.gifrotfl.gif

In my humble opinion, buffoons one and all.

Scott Morrison to be the next elected Liberal PM.

Haha ok reading my post back I think I overstated it. I think being rich makes it less likely they are in it for the money.

Clive palmer is so rich he is just in it because he's bored and wants to have a laugh.

Totally agree that almost all of them are buffoons though from all sides.

The problem with this whole political system is the wear and tare on the front door of parliament house.

I encourage everyone to send pollies emails or calls to their offices. It's the only way they know how the people feel and it actually does make a difference.

Good call. And, may I add that no Australian leader of the opposition (e.g. Bill Shorten) has ever become Prime Minister after becoming so as a result of a predecessor losing an election as PM (e.g. Kevin Rudd). So, Scott Morrison to take on Anthony Alabanese next election, perhaps?

I don't think Shorten will lead Labor at the next election. Although I hope he does because Labor has no chance with him leading.

Scott Morrison would be a great PM. Very strong and seems fairly honest (well for a politician at least).

I agree the change is good in principle - he's an accomplished business person and a corporate leader so he must have some smarts and cunning. The country should benefit and prosper with someone like him at the helm.

The question is, will the public have the smarts to capitalise on the opportunity of having someone like this at the helm?

I suppose the test will come in the upcoming election.

Taiwanese animators create video 'explaining' Liberal leadership spill

Taiwanese animators have created a video about the Liberal leadership spill that features Malcolm Turnbull knocking Tony Abbott off a tricycle and diving into a pool of gold.
The video, which was uploaded to YouTube this week, pokes fun at the "revolving door of Australia's prime ministership," pointing out that Malcolm Turnbull is the country's fifth prime minister in five years.
The video also seeks to outline the personalities and public personas of both Malcolm Turnbull and Tony Abbott.

Mr Abbott is described as "political attack dog derided by critics as visionless," while Mr Turnbull is described as being "known for his ego and reputation as a renaissance man".

In 2010, the group - Next Media TV - made a video about the federal election called "Australia goes to the polls," which has been viewed more than 200,000 times.

I'm surprised it took that long. I haven't met a single person in the past year who said they liked having Abbott as PM. Almost everybody has some pretty strong feelings against him.

new front bench announced and hockey's gone, possibly retiring from politics.

I'm totally sick of these career politicians who have gone from student politics into safe seats or working for sitting politicians and never actually worked worked in the real world. And by that I mean worked in a job ( or a couple of jobs) where the sole focus isn't politics.

Morrison still there. Can't understand why as he's as morally bankrupt as they come. As immigration minister he's presided over the most in-humane and costly policy in Aust politics. How many hundreds of millions has been spent on off-shore processing??

Anyway the sense that something will be different under Tunrbull is growing, but will depend as always on the actions.
