El Presidente Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I was clearing out my loose stick humidor last week and came across some singles of the Clasicos and Maestro from the Vegas Robaina 5th Anniversary Humidor launched in 2003. It was a beautiful 100 cigar humidor comprising Clasico,Maestro, Famoso, Unicos and Don Alejandros. 500 humidors made. Link to a picture on Cuban Cigar Website. http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Vegas_Robaina I had the Clasico over the weekend. Perhaps the cigar of the year to date for me. I had the Maestro yesterday. Almost as good. Both were smooth, sweet cocoa bombs and no brainer 98 point cigars. Out of interest has anyone else had cigars from this humidor release in the past few years? Where you as blown away as I was or did you have a different experience?
Habana Mike Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Can't say I've had the chance on these though I've been smoking from some early 2000 boxes of Clasicos of late and enjoy them greatly. It's a beautiful box! Maybe I can win one of yours at Poker tonight
stogieluver Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I've been curious about these special release humidors. If you're lucky enough to come into ownership of one, do the owners generally smoke the cigars, or is it more of an investment type of thing where it is much more valuable with the cigars in it? I think if I ever came into one, I'd say screw the investment value and smoke every last one of them.
Diamondog Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 You offered up a 5 stick sampler of these a few years ago....mine are long gone and excellent they were
El Presidente Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 You offered up a 5 stick sampler of these a few years ago....mine are long gone and excellent they were I remember the Sampler. This was one of those humidors you would be hard pressed giving away upon release. Interesting to think what one would go for today.
Guybrush Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Out of interest has anyone else had cigars from this humidor release in the past few years? You gifted me the Don Alejandro from this humidor when me met the first time in Brisbane. At the same occasion you also gifted me a 1998 Hoyo DC and while I was impressed by your generosity, and very thankful for both cigars (and the La Escepcion you gave me as well) in my opinion the Hoyo was the better cigar. To be honest it was most likely the best Hoyo I ever smoked. It was full, rich and simply amazing. 1

Coloniales Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Yes Rob, had the 5th Anni Dpn Alejandro about 10 days ago, stunning cigar. I had a few singles, and sadly for me I sold the humidor many moons ago. Muppet that I am. Keith.
