Cuban Montecristo Gets a Small Size

Habanos S.A., Cuba's cigar monopoly, has announced the release of a new size in its iconic Montecristo brand, the Media Corona. The 3 1/2 inches by 44 ring gauge cigar is aimed at smokers who want a full-bodied flavor profile but in a shorter length so it can be smoked quickly.

Ok it looks like the pendulum is swinging. We are seeing 70, 80, and even 100+ ring gauge NC's (dumb as hell but who asked me?) on one end and now the new thing in CCs seems to be the baby corona. Personally I like the middle ground but I'm sure I'll still pick up a box or two

Smoked quickly huh? I usually set aside time to enjoy a cigar so something time "efficient" usually isn't a quality I look for. I tend to smoke or choose my smoke based on the flavor profile I'm looking for so if I do smoke a smaller cigar like a Perla or a petite corona it isn't because I'm in a rush. With that said, I know many members will enjoy something smaller and quicker with a little Monte flavor boost. I'll still try one.

Smoked my first one 2 weeks ago.

Would be happy if this sample could represent the future production.

Liked it a lot. Nice flavors from the start, could see the Montecristo roots.

Just a bit young for me, not fully open yet.

Good addition besides the HU HC.
