2013 release but I was wondering if they have held onto their excellence or if you have noticed a change in flavour/body profile in any way? I have some going up later but it has been some time since I have smoked the initial HUCA. Would love to know your thoughts ok.gif

I was able to get three boxes of the original release and they are still smoking brilliantly. I smoke one at least once a month and if anything they have actually more depth of flavour than when I first had one back in Havana in Nov 2013. I have since purchased a number of boxes of these post OR and most of them have been just as good.

True Tom. I haven't noticed a deterioration in production since 2013. Beautiful cigars.

good question, i asked myself same question and then i realized answer in practice :-)

saturday 1 piece from box SEP 13

sunday 1 piece from box NOV 14

13 version - nice light wrapper with sheen , still wonderful aroma ... perfect draw and burning , very complex very smooth , started very honey sweet , cake , touch of caramel then little bit of leather and earth , in the last thirt quite nutty with cinnamon feel

14 version - dark oily wrapper with intense aroma , perfect draw and good burning , toasted tabaco with leather , creamy smoke.. little bit of honey sweetness and earth , in the last third little bit bitter but no big issue

conclusion - both are excellent but for me 13 version is better , sweeter, more complex and smoke better than before (first i had in 01/2014 from this box )

(from box NOV 14 i had first in 02/2015 and it seems that flavours has little bit more depth now from this box , but still there are plenty of time left for improvement in last third .... )

(totally in my humidor are 5 boxes sep 13 , oct 13 , may 14 , july 14 , nov 14 )

Brilliants cigars. When my first box arrived from you I was impressed (I think I got one of the two boxes initially posted). They were beautiful, but in the first few months they were kind of harsh. Today they are smooth refined and very different than most anything else is my humidor. They are kind of difficult to describe because they just feel old school. The blend is just different than any other cigars I have smoked, especially in the Upmann marca. I have only smoked a few Sir Winstons and the Connie A are not that smooth or refined, yet. I have smoked a dozen or more Upmann Monarch from 2007 and the Connie A are very similar IMO. If I were forced to describe them they are a hybrid or the Sir Winston and Monarch with the volume turned up a few notches.

I found the sampler I got to be young, smoked two, put the rest (4) away with the box I purchased. Will give them another year I think.

I had OG release and subsequent. Light wrappers, darker ones and man, this cigar just delivers every time!

Light green or olive green? Lol

Or not green at all?
