The only universal truth in cigars is to cut the cap before smoking lmao.gif

My tolerance for a poor drawing cigar has developed over time to absolutely zero. I will cut a DC down to an Upmann HC size if needed or pitch it altogether.

Bad burn, I can live with. Have had plenty of poor burning cigars that taste great but if it get's too bad i will still cut the crap out of it or pitch it.

Life is too short.

Is there a reason you didn't touch up the burn or would that side simply not burn?

Thankfully those weren't mine. Just pics off of google.

I was smoking a R&J wide churchill and I was getting rich chocolate notes which up until that cigar I had not experienced. I thought this is what Rob and Ken are talking about. Sadly I could not set it down 5 seconds without it going out. I resisted buying more for a while when I finally did the burn was excellent, but no chocolate notes to speak of, just the cedar notes which are more common. Maybe I will luck into some gems on my trip to cuba next month.

Viva los puros de Cuba!

Thats not a universal truth.

One can always light the cap and smoke the cigar backwards.

? What's the idea? If a cigar is not properly rolled or filled with the right amount of leaves, smoking it backward won't eliminate the problem

After using that lighter anything is possible lol3.gif

No it won't. My point is there are no absolutes. It smoked good, interesting to get that final ramp up of strength right at the "beginning" of the cigar.

Propane is a wonderful thing. I usually put full cherry on it, wait a few seconds and take my first puff.

Any issues with the wrapper unravelling?

Yes a little bit. It wanted to come free, but i licked the edge and told it to stay put. Even with that, if you have a favorite, maybe try smoking it backwards once.
