Good day Aficionados

I've been wanting to purchase a couple of tubos to hand out to friends when we get together. Thing is most of them don't smoke cigars and would not be able to give attention to a cigar for much more than 45 minutes. I would love to get my hands on Montecristo petit tubos (do they still make those?) but since i have little experience with tubos (siglo II, ryj #2, punch punch) what are some tubos you think are enjoyable for beginners and don't require an hour plus to enjoy, have any been "on" lately?

Have a lovely weekend everyone, smoke some from the island

tldr; looking for tubos for beginners, 45min smoke.

HDM coronations---friends have enjoyed them, doesn't break the bank, and makes for a decent smoke

Siglo II

Because unfortunately most beginners only know the Cohiba name, if you wanna make them feel really special and "boss-like", Siglo II seems to be the best choice.

As for me, I don't like snobby beginners who are more concerned with the band rather than the cigar. So I just give them a PL Panetela, which to me is the perfect beginner cigar.

For Tubo - the first one that comes to mind, HU Coronas Major - great cigar and will appeal to beginners. Partagas Coronas Senior is also a very good cigar. HdM Coronations an excellent mild-medium cigar.

I also totally agree that the PLP, not a Tubo, is the perfect beginner cigar, as long as it is not rolled too tight.

I've found Upmann Coronas Major very good, certainly not a lower tier cigar; plenty of that rich Upmann chocolatey leather and sweet cream. Like a Mag 46 crossed with the Petit Corona.

this..........

hoyo coronations as well....

I hear good things about the Boli #3 tubos... but having never tried that particular vitoa myself I can't really say. A friend snuck back an Upmann Coronas Junior tubos for me from Ireland and I thought it was a bit mild but had good taste.

For beginners, try Punch or HdM Coronation tubos because they won't break the bank and they are easy to enjoy, flavour-wise, for a beginner. Also, if you purchase these and take them out of the tubo packs and let them settle in your humidor for a month, they'll be even better, if that's possible for you to do!

I really am enjoying fresh Peitt Chrchill tubos. I was all prepared to hate them becaue they are just an annoying addition and size....but they are really, really nice...

Troya Club Coronas... $50 for the box :D

I'm going to procure a box of these just to see. I read many people enjoying them.

Are the good fresh or let them rest?

Good luck letting them rest. I've gone through a good 4 or 5 boxes this winter...

And I don't think many people enjoy them. I'm just a vocal minority with occasional people agreeing with me. But then again, $50 for a box - you can't lose (anything besides fifty bucks)!!

I would also go with the Upmann Coronas Major. Every one I have sampled has been smooth as butta and won't break the bank. Also, RyJ tubos no.2 are a nice little smoke for roughly the same price, as well.

Thanks guys for great suggestions, i've only tried the Coronas Major once and it was damn smooth, i think it fits the bill perfectly.

The Boli Tubos #3 is an outstanding cigar, but not for a beginner IMO. Great full bodied flavor and can have a lip numbing nicotine kick.
