The Tigers v Roos game was an odd match. It seemed to lack intensity to some degree. I think it was the hotter windy conditions. North, to their credit rested players the week before and played a game plan based on the Tigers turning the ball over. That plan beat Richmond on the day but won't see them progress much further. The Tigers seemed flat and their deficiencies were exposed. On the upside, I can now plan to go away to Port Fairy on the extended grand final weekend and do some spearfishing. I'll be barracking for the Eagles from here. Should be some interesting match ups next week. Hawks v Crows and Sydney v North.

Pies not going too bad, makes a nice change at the Gabba. I think we can win this one Coolio. Time to think about the cigar challenge from Westg Go Pies!

Just back onto the subject of Carlton..... I'm not a Blues supporter, but after all he's done for the game (loved to hate him when he's was with the Weagles - they were truly a powerhouse) I think it

Great win today by the eagles ...A case of good prevailing over evil...That hit by Silvagni on Cripps 70m of the ball is about as average as you can get ..He is looking at an extended holiday from th

Down to the last 4 teams. Hawks ands Eagles are looking good in September

Freo v Hawks: should be a cracker of a game.

Eagles v Kangas: WCE should win easily.

It seems the Freo fans were out in force last night. One fan threatening to punch a Hawthorn player and another punching a female supporter in the face which was caught on video from a phone and posted on social media. Anyone else seen this footage? Just disgusting.

I have a feeling that the boys from the 'West' see tonight's West Coast vs North Melbourne semi-final as a foregone conclusion! sneaky.gif

Im hoping for a West Coast win so we can have a grand final featuring two potent forward lines. Yep, westg, I am not a fan of Ross Lyon. It's a shame that Freo players are thought of in a similar way because you've got to like Fyfe, Mundy, Sandilands as players. Oh well, stuff em'.

Really abhorrent. I just can't understand what goes on in people's heads sometimes. We're supposed to be a civilised society, but stuff like that is straight from caveman days.

Was a great game even though it was over sometime in the 3rd qtr. North tried hard and certainly can hold their heads high. Unlike the white maggots with the whistles!

So who thinks the eagles can take the hawks? Will be interesting to see. If the eagles played like they did the first half today they'll get slaughtered by the hawks... but maybe they were taking it easy in preparation for next week?

If the eagles don't have it in th ebag by half time, the hawks have the stamina to catchup... will be a good game in any case... anyone know anywhere it will be video streaming online?

terrible umpiring ..its amazing when you watch the reactions from players of both teams ...when they don't know who has the free kick and what it is for...loved the out of bounds when 10 layers stop because they can see the ball is clearly out ...and the call is play on...looking.gifthey umps are sponsored by OPSM ...maybe they should go and get some

So who thinks the eagles can take the hawks?

Judging by their Round 19 and Qualifying final games in 2015, where the Eagles have led in 6 of 8 quarters, I would think the Eagles can win. I think their recent clash two weeks ago, where the Eagles won 14-12-96 to 9-10-64 also carries momentum into the Grand Final.

Speaking of momentum, which is critical going into a Grand Final, to beat North Melbourne after been dominated for the first quarter to a quarter and a half, speaks volumes about how the Eagles will be tough to beat in the next game, in my opinion.

hawks will go in favourites due to experience, talent and home ground advantage. There is a lot more space on the round MCG out wide for the hawks to play their possession game. But the hawks have had to play one more game to get to the grand final. It could take its toll. The Eagles on the other hand will have to travel but they do it every second week in the home and away. Then again, they don't get to play on the MCG all that much. In the Eagles favour will be Nic Nat and Sinclair in the ruck. They have the ability to give their enballers first use during stoppages. I feel the Hawks will counter this by manning up at clearances. It will be interesting to see if the hawks can pick their way through the Eagles web defence with their short kicking game or the eagles can put enough pressure on the kicker. The hawks won't tag anyone so it is looking like a shootout if the weather in fine with not much wind. Hawks and Eagles are rated 1 and 2 for goals scored from opposition turnovers. If it is windy which is often the case on grand final day it might be an ugly match for the first half at least until one team takes their chances. With so many great forwards I'm hoping for a good old fashioned 18 goals to 17 goals shootout on a sunny day. Go Eagles. I have too many Hawks mates and they have had too much success for my liking. Regards, disgruntled Richmond supporter.
