TomF Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I've always wondered (although not enough to try it) who would win if I put, say, a 62 and a 69 in a tupperdor together without any cigars. If you did that and left it alone long enough, assuming a well sealed humidor, the 65% bags would dry out and the 62% bags would bloat. Eventually the humidor would settle at 62%.
planetary Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Still new to cigars, so I would defer to the experience of other members. But FWIW, I'm running 65% Heartfelt beads in two wineadors dialed in at 66F/19C, with good results so far. I live in California where it's almost always less humid outside than in, and I need the refrigeration in the summer (now).
parabola66 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I use 3 65% in my tupperdor. In the summer it evens out to 60-62RH, in the winter it dips down to 58-60.
NCPANTHERZFAN Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Heartfelt beads 65rh. 1 pound split into 2 1/2 pound bags in my Whytner. Very hot and humid here in the southern U.S. now but sits are 64 rh at the bottom and 67 at the top. Trying to keep everything as low in the wineador as possible, but it's filling up quickly!
dangolf18 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 65% is optimal for long-term aging. 69 would be better for NC. Personally I use the 65.
