bolivr Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 A great story, I got a chuckle out of this. Enjoy. This bloke is a legend. http://www.betootaadvocate.com/uncategorized/youll-never-guess-what-happened-when-three-junkies-tried-to-rob-this-former-prizefighter/ 1
Balboa Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Holy Sh*t !!! Great story. This reminds me when I was sitting in my friends veranda at 4:00 in the morning having some drinks, when we spotted a burglar trying to break into his basement. Poor sap didn't notice us until we tried to break our hands with his face. Someone had spotted this punk before his beatdown, so while we were getting acqainted with this scumbag, as soon as he saw the cops, he ran into the squad car begging for help . What a rat !!! Oddly enough, he didn't press charges against us ?
cooper669 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 It's good to see he's still got it at age 78! Awesome!
merc Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Hilarious, I read this in the newspaper the other day, but this is a more uncensored account. I laughed out loud at my desk when I read his account vs his wife's Wife: “[Reg] towelled those druggie f**kwits for two whole hours. He wiped the floor with the lot of them” However, Reg has provided a different account in the official police report. “I was watching some old Wheel Of Fortune shows on the telly when I heard someone out the front. They were making their way up the stairs and into my house. I must have given them a fright because all three fell down the stairs and knocked my themselves out.”
Fuzz Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 “I saw old Reg run to his front door and lock it after seeing someone sneaking in the back side. I heard him cry “Let’s dance, pretty boy!” and the house erupted,” That comment cracked me up! 1

oliverdst Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 In the same line. A thief invaded this brazilian boxer house and well... something like what the old man above did. ATTENTION: THE FINAL IMAGES MAY BE DISTURBING FOR SOME VIEWERS

Quint Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 In the US the old man would be charged and sued and would probably lose both cases.........great story
Scroats Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Maybe in NY. In Florida, I can pump them full of lead and skate.
JWPlatinum Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 ahahah, "cut his hands fixing roof gutters". clever man, outstanding story.
leftimatic Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 We need more Reg's in the world. A grotesque act would be a man charged for protecting his family and home.
Jones Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Is that really a crime in oz? One of the commenters stated it could be excessive force ?
wabashcr Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 It sounds like he might have gone a bit beyond just defending himself and his property in beating these guys unconscious. Not saying they didn't deserve it, or that he should face charges, just that I could see where the law might limit the amount of punishment he's allowed to inflict. Even if there's a case against him, I'd be surprised if a prosecutor were to pursue it. A 78 year old man defending his home with his fists would be an awfully sympathetic defendant.
TheMunt Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Crazy old fella, gotta love the effort. A man uninvited in another mans home is fair game, laws aside its just allowed.

Well in the US if a man breaks into your house and falls thru a hole in your floor and hurts himself or some-such type of accident he can sue you and there's a 50% chance or better that he will win. Just like you can be persecuted for shooting an intruder. Litigation heaven in the US.
