First, I guess it'd be important to ask what LCDH releases even are? The only one I have at the moment is the H. Upmann Royal Robusto, but I also have my eyes at the moment on:

  • Bolivar Libertadors
  • Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure De Luxe
  • La Gloria Cubana Inmensos (haven't been able to find this one yet, but I see lots of people purchasing it quite often from somewhere)
  • Ramon Allones Superiores

What are your thoughts on all of these and do you have a general description of flavor?

Thanks for any and all help!

In order of my personal preference:

Ramon Allones Superiores. One of the best LCDH releases ever.
Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure De Luxe. Smooth sweet and creamy.
La Gloria Cubana Inmensos. Floral and nutty a very nice cigar.
Bolivar Libertadors . The strongest of the 4 a very nice cigar with toned down bolivar flavour profile.
I would however add that the Upmann Royal Robusto is IMO right up there with the RA Sup's.

Forgot the Upmann Noella, Boli Gold Medal, Upmann A I believe as well.

From your list above, my personal order of preference is:

RA Superiores

Bolivar Libertador

Epi Deluxe

have not smoked enough Inmensos to make a decision, but the ones I have had were good. They have popped up here a few times over the past couple weeks/months

The flavours are all over the place.

I find the Superiores deep and leathery with touches of sweetness and just a rich smoke.

Libertadores I find creamy and smooth and surprisingly delicate. Also some sweetness, kind of caramel-like, more than the Sups. I don't find this cigar strong at all.

De Luxe are a solid small smoke with plenty of smoke volume that has a nice mouth feel. Velvet is the word that comes to mind for me. Tough to pinpoint a distinctive taste, but very velvety and enjoyable.

My favorite of the bunch are the Royal Robustos. Like smoking toffee/salted caramel.

The bolivar Libertadors are very good as well. I don't find them as strong as some say.

I tried Inmensons once and liked them a lot.

Did not enjoy RA Superiors.

Overall, I think the LCDH are much better than LEs and Regionals.

The thing I don't understand is how everyone and their uncle are selling these. I would assume by name name and the band these should only be sold in LCDH stores.

Yep but I'm glad everyone and uncle Rob sells them...otherwise I would be at the mercy of finding Superiores while living in the forbidden land.

I have only had decent quantities (close to two boxes) of the Superiores and Royal Robustos. Like the RR, but LOVE the Superiores, think its the cream of the crop

The LCDH releases are vitolas only sold at LCDH stores and seem to be produced in limited numbers. I seek them out and generally find them to be my favorite releases. The RA Superiors are my favorite, but I love anything RA. I have found all of the cigars you mentioned to be good to great smokes.

Only smoked the Eppie delux and RA Superiore. Both very good. RA better. Both worth the price of admission

I may be a little bias as an Upmann fan, but the Connie A and Royal Robusto are both fantastic cigars. Coming in a close second is the RA Superiores, which you just can't go wrong with from my experience - great size and smokes great even in their youth.

What? No love for the Partagas Salomones? That's my personal fav!

I tend to agree with others, I've had a much better experience with the LCDH releases than EL's.

lol3.gif They're sold almost everywhere (including France and Spain, the two largest markets for habanos, that don't even have one LCDH), and they're re-released year after year…

Question about these as I've recently seen mentioned about the LE's not being something that "ages well" compared to regular production. I honestly don't know enough about the differences between LE's and LCDH's and regular production to get this concept. I have Royal Robustos, Superiors, and just scored a fantastic box of Connie A's. The last thing I want to read about them like my Mag 48's is seeing them being said by many to be "in decline".

Your thoughts?

If you like the Partagas Salomone, I strongly recommend the Cuaba Salomone as well. I find it meatier, more fulfilling, richer and thoroughly more enjoyable than the Partagas version.

Apples and oranges.

The LEs are made with tobacco specifically aged for them, and wrappers that that are completely different from standard production. They have a tendancy to taste identically, whatever the marca, in their youth.

The LCDH releases are standard production (ie "normal" blends in their marca) cigars produced in limited quantities and supposedly sold only in the LCDH franchise.
