forgop Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 In Vegas March 23-27. Haven't been since a quick trip over 15 years ago. Have tix to Blue Man Group on the 25th and will most likely get tix to Anthony Cools, a great hypnotist that I saw multiple times 15-20 years ago when he did shows at clubs through the midwest (USA). Want to hit a couple of top notch buffets and have some great sushi. May catch some March Madness at one of the sports books. Don't really care to play at the tables. But I do have a nice 5er that I plan to make the most of to include Boli CG, JL2, RyJ Ex 4, Monte 2, and a Connie A. Outside of Casa Fuente, where should I be sure to smoke them and what do you insist on doing every time out there?
Habana Mike Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Don't go to Vegas without 'lots of cash' Don't go see Blue Man Group 'unless you're stoned' You can smoke in all the Casinos. I usually pull up a seat at the center bar, pop a $20 in the video games and drink for free while I enjoy my cigar. Even make a little cash sometimes. Nobu at Hard Rock does a great Omakase and Bochu Sushi downtown's also highly rated. Best on the strip is Sushi Roku. If you want a true old Las Vegas experience go downtown to the El Cortez Casino, have a steak at Flame then go in to the lounge where you can enjoy classic cocktails and Sinatra-like swooning while smoking a cigar. Apparently the smoking laws don't apply in that part of town. If mikek is around he can offer some good advice, he's been a local for decades. If you really want an experience, take a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and over the strip at sunset.
Magpie Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Like Habana Mime says you smoke cigars on all casino floors and bars, some are better than others, the bar at Aria is good for having a cigar. Andre's at the Monte Carlo has a nice snug cigar and whisky lounge upstairs. If it's not too windy just sit on the deck at Margaritaville and watch the world pass by. Enjoy Vegas I love it!
Magpie Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Sorry miss spelled Mike. Whilst searching out Andrés at the Monte Carlo the Steak house is excellent
lostsoulcamero Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 parasol up parasol down at the wynn decent whisky and scotch menu and away from the hustle 1
forgop Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 I had a handful if choices for a free show. None of the others were really as appealing and it was a compromise to keep from seeing a ventriloquist.
RickHendeson Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 "penicillin?" DUUUUUUUDE . . . Didn't even see that till after I posted!
Habana Mike Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I had a handful if choices for a free show. None of the others were really as appealing and it was a compromise to keep from seeing a ventriloquist. It's actually good fun but about an hour too long.....
reffy Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Pain meds. Between hangovers and migraines from the heat, pain relivers will be your best friend
forgop Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 Going to in-n-out.Never had one. May be a must. 1
UpInSmoak Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I second Roku for some sushi. It's excellent. If you are a burger and beer type of guy, Mario Batali has a burger place in the Venetian. B and B's. The best burger I have ever had. It was so good I ate there for lunch and dinner. I'm not quite sure when pool season opens, but if yu make it there during the warmer months, vegas has some of the best pool parties. Wet Republic is a big draw and has some of the best eye candy you could ask for. And a trip to Vegas isn't complete without a trip to the "Rhino".
JohnS Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I was in Las Vegas in 2011. The Beatles 'Love' Cirque de Soleil show and the Grand Canyon Helicopter ride were among my highlights on that trip! So, I'd go to Vegas and be prepared to be surprised what you can enjoy on your time away.
Rushman Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I'm not much into the buffets. My trips to Vegas started on my 21st bday when my dad took me. Started a tradition that I almost always keep up with. Breakfast at what used to be Barbary Coast next to Flamingo. Good old fashioned diner type breakfast, not the giant buffet. Other than that, cash and golf clubs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Bill Hayes Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 It sounds a little wrongtown but one the best things I did in Vegas was go to the gun shop and shoot a Glock, a Sig, Mag 44, an Uzi, an AK-47 and an M-16 at a purchased paper target of Saddam Hussein. Being from the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia I never really shot guns before. Just something I had to get off my chest. Not sure if it's still open. That was about 8 or so years ago. 1
Popular Post Drguano Posted March 13, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 13, 2015 “We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.” ― Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 6
omartout Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Go see Penn and Teller and get a lobster roll at Lobster Me. I've heard the Rum Bar is super cigar friendly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
terrantheman Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I'm not a Vegas fan. I have a buddy out there. You might know him from other boards, OpusXMarco? If I were to ask anyone I would ask him!
wabashcr Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 cocaine If it's your thing, you definitely want to take it with you. Fake blow in Vegas is like fake habanos in Mexico. All the guys outside the casinos will try to sell you a gram or two, but it's always always always fake. Or so I've heard, from a friend of course. I used to love Las Vegas, but went after I gave up alcohol, and found it lost most of its appeal. All the fun I used to have there was fueled by alcohol. I don't enjoy gambling, partying in loud clubs, or any of the other fun stuff nearly as much sober. Only recommendation, if you happen to be down by the Wynn/Encore, stop in at Tacos El Gordo. It's a trashy little taqueria, and the lines can be ridiculous, but their tacos are outstanding, especially the adobada.
