Ken Gargett Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 apparently after the scots beat the usa in the davis cup, the team was asked how they'd celebrate. andy murray says that dom, one of his teammates, has a girl here in town so he'll be off with her again. dom is apparently utterly horrified. his response - 'well you've just landed me in it. my girlfriend is off in portugal (i think) and she'll be watching'. nice one.
JohnS Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Infamous temper, speaks without thinking often and only recently has he accepted responsibilty for his poor grand slam record. He has won only 2 out of 8. Compare Djokovic with 8 out of 15, Nadal with 14 out of 20 and Federer with 17 out of 25 and this is quite plainly obvious. They (that is tennis commentators) talk about the big four every slam but in my mind that should be redefined as the big three. I'm not surprised by Murray putting his foot in his mouth again. 1

Yes definitely, the other three are in another class. I also think he has matured a little in the last year, but he was due.
zrotfus Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Yes definitely, the other three are in another class. I also think he has matured a little in the last year, but he was due. I have a softspot for Andy Murray. I can see the argument from a Grand Slam title perspective that he doesn't belong but when you look at 2011 onward he really was a perennial semi finalist/finalist/occasional winner. So he certainly does not have the titles to be considered one of the greatest from a historical perspective, but for those years 2011-2014 there truly was a Big 4 and you could come very close to banking on those 4 guys being the last men standing at any particular Slam.
LeafLover Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Man, he will have explaining to do. Especially if he told his girlfriend the night before that he was just chillin' in his hotel room. I'm sure its strictly platonic. Then again, you never know. Athletes have been known to get a lot of ass.
