Just got some goodies to deposit into the humidor. my sampling days are over just about. Maybe 10-15 more sticks to try after these and then I'm onto box purchases. Can't wait to destroy the space in my cabinet. The top drawer is slowly being overrun with CCs. It felt so good to bump some NCs to the bottom shelves to make room for these babies!

Great sampler. Looks to me like you're going to be buying 15 boxes of cigars. You're gonna need a bigger boat.

Congratulations on that haul.

Hey Seth,

The Cohiba or Romeo y Julieta tubos would be interesting to review at some stage. I had a look tonight on CubanCigarWebsite and they state the following:

Tubes help to preserve cigars from physical damage and short-term drying out. Habanos recommends removing them from their tubes if storing in a humidor although MRN (Min Ron Nee, the author of An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Post-Revolution Havana Cigars, which retails used on Amazon for $US500) advocates leaving cigars in their tubes for improved (but slower) aging.

Perhaps you can take one out of the tube and leave the other in your humidor and tell us the difference down the track. Personally, I have had some tubos benefit from resting a few months after taking them out of the tubes and leaving them in the humidor.

I've tried this myself on a box of Upmann Coronas Major. Left ten in tube and the rest took them out of the tube. ROTT they were strong and just harsh, with strong flavours I couldn't separate. 6 months later the untubed ones had settled very well and grew into the typical upmann flavour with an added bit of spicyness, while the tubes were still rough and harsh. Have 5 more left in tubes and about 10 left untubed to revist in a few years.

Yeah, I had a similar experience, especially in terms of harshness ROTT and then the flavour settling down later after untubing.

Ok guys I'm willinging to bite. Would you like to do one siglo in tube and one siglo out of tube? How long do you want them rested?

Any other requests for order of cigars smoked? Written reviews will follow all cigars smoked.

My experience was 2 to 3 months, but I was eager to smoke my Punch tubos. You can't go wrong with Mus' example of six months of settling in my opinion.

Since you ask for any other requests....I notice that you have a Partagas culebras untied in your humidor. I had this cigar for the first time at our CubanCigarWebsite Sydney FoH gathering on the weekend. I must say I was BLOWN AWAY by how good this cigar was. I'd be interested in reading your review on this one too Seth.

That partagas has been in the humidor for about a year. I will push that to the front of the line. I will try and shoot for six months on the siglo VI Tubo vs. non-tubo. Took it out this morning.

Cheers and keep up the requests.

Had to officially bump all the NC's to the bottom of the end table...can't explain what a great feeling that was haha.
