What does HQ, PSP, etc.. mean?

Recommended Posts

Upon examining cigar boxes, our host will grade them so we know what we buy.

PE=Premium Econmy

HQ=High Quality

PSP=Premium Select

There is a youtube video where Rob explains it all, i'm sure someone will post the link soon

Cheers

It ultimately means your credit card statement will be higher than normal because you're not buying lower quality cc's.

Not for everyone ;) For me it's indeed cheaper to buy from our hosts than to buy locally. And quality wise is also a LOT better. For me here it's cigar heaven, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people feel the same way here party.gif

Some threads should be e-mailed when someone registers in FOH.

Sorry if I asked a dumb question. I went through and read the forum rules, the abbreviations, and the other pinned posts and didn't see the answer. My apologies.

No such thing as a dumb initial question Seth.

As a background.

In the early days I would be swamped with questions as to "what is good now" or "what would you buy". As the forum grew it seemed apt to formalise the listing really for the benefit of myself and the team.

I started grading my incoming stock month to month. The gradings are my own based on my own experience. Others are welcome to disagree with the gradings but essentially the stock I recommend is what I would buy if walking into a B&M in Havana/london/Hong Kong etc and spending my coin.

Some find value in the service. Others don't. No sweat either way.

It helps me (and my team) most of all. The grading keeps me on top of the month to month variances in the quality of my stock. I simply pass on the information via the program.

It took me a good amount of time searching to find where PE, HQ and PSP were explained. I don't think it's very clear at all to new members. Here are two good solutions..

1) At the start of every forum sale thread simply have a section up the top either explaining it or linking to the thread that explains it. That's easy enough to copy and paste every time.

2) Put the sticky that explains it in this 'water hole' subforum. I can't remember where it is now, but it doesn't make sense given that all the sale threads occur in the water hole.

One thing I've been wondering about. Where does "Hand Picked" fall in the quality categorization? Have seen that in the recent 24:24 threads. Assuming it is the same as PE?

quote from the current 24:24

"Hand Picked denotes they have been selected by myself and represent a mix of high end PE, HQ and sometimes PSP."

Not a dumb question at all Seth, those who think it is should go read the other threads on the forum.

It's not dumb. Definetely not. Just basic, that's why I think they should be e-mailed.

We are all learning here. Do not trust the one who says know it all.

Thanks for all the help guys!! Rob looking forward to interacting with you more as it seems you are really passionate about your business and your customers!! I always try and go through all the pinned or stickied threads in forums so as to not repeat questions that have been gone over. I couldn't find it in the search because it said there wasn't enough characters or it was too common. Either way if there is a good "starter information document" or perhaps a location where I can read up I'd love to hear about it. There are lots of questions I have with regard to CC's in general, different types of packaging, etc....

Thanks again for all your help

Cheers,

Seth

Ever the PE are worth seeking out,Rob sees them and decides if they are worthy....

I really do advocate the PSP grade,they are so good and if you are going to get ANYTHING,get them when available.....

a few extra $$ really enhances the value when getting Rob's picks...........

Had a Sancho Beli PSP last night,head and shoulders better than any I have had,definitely worth the cost...
