sharks Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Just throwing this one out there to see if anyone has tried it? I'm interested although the asking price out here in Aus is $500.
sengjc Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Nope - have not and probably would not unless it is free. I just cannot justify the asking price.
sengjc Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Yup - seems a lot to ask for an ex-bourbon casker that is not even cask strength.
garbandz Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 The Balvenie 21 will crush this at half the price............
Phillys Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Never tried this one, but the glenfiddich 30 was beaten in a blind taste test by much cheaper and younger whiskys. But I might not be a reference as I do not like Glenfiddich.

But I might not be a reference as I do not like Glenfiddich. In most reviews the 21 yo seems to get better ratings. The 26yo maybe just a fancy advertising tool. Have been told they are discontinuing the 21 and 30yo. The Balvenie 21 will crush this at half the price............ I imagine you would be correct, I suspect the Macallan 18yo would destroy it as well although I have yet tot try the glenfiddich to compare. Also to add at that price it may never happen
pbibby Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 I really enjoy the 18 yr. It's quite nice and about a 5th of the price
fokker4me Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 I have not, but Its a hefty price for what it is.
lipher Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Mmm I'd like to try it... The 25 year highland park is awesome (oldest scotch I owe) however I'd agree age doesn't always make it better. The Mac fine oak 12/15 is much better than the 18/21
canadianbeaver Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Looks like Duty Free tourist bait to me. So many other choices for half the money, and I would ask Claus to help me!
