smk819 Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 What cigar are you going to smoke Christmas day? I have been saving a Cohiba LE DC that I got from a certain unnamed el Prez.
Loki Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 This Christmas I will be celebrating the holiday with a 95 HDM Epicure #2. Its a real beauty. I purchased this on my first trip to Toronto and totally forgot I had it in the humidor.:-)
Ken Gargett Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 given that christmas in my family is a fairly conservative affair - at the aunt and uncle's who are both doctors - there is usually close to revolution if i even suggest that 16 people could probably handle a 2nd bottle of wine (tho as i have to drive for about three hours after, not the worst thing). firing up a cigar would send most of the family into fits. when i do get home, i'll settle back there or go across the road to the beach with either a 1997 lusi (fast running out of these stunners) or a slr dc with a few years on it (or both if chrissy has been particularly traumatic). i'll take the new mb21 - this is a tiny production beer done in wax covered tallies to celebrate matilda bay's 21st birthday. it is a 6.5% wheat beer from redback yeast and dogbolter primings (no, i have no idea either). they only made 100 cases. after that, a really old rutherglen muscat. happy christmas
shrink Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 firing up a cigar would send most of the family into fits. All the more reason to do so, IMO. What most people don't realize, is that self-righteous, conservative, judgmental people like your family secretly LOVE it when someone offends their sensibilities. It gives them the all together too rare opportunity to rise to the occasion, feign offense, take the moral high ground, and spout off their superior philosophies. It is as therapeutic as a good enema. So do 'em a favor, Ken. Light up the Lusi at the dinner table, and enjoy both the cigar and the social consequences!
habanohal Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Really sucks for we dont smokein the house. he wife and I told the kids that we never would( Until there out) . SO leaves the garage. Its about 10 degrees F here, but I can heat the garage with a portable kerosine heater to about 60. If I can get some12 to sit in there I will try 2. the 1st will be a 1980s Dom Periogn. 2nd wil be a Graycliff Expresso Pirate which I had rolled 2 years ago on our 10th anniversery when in the Bahammas. The graycliff will be the 1st non-cuban cigar to be smoked in over 2 years
Colt45 Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 It's just too cold to smoke, so I'll have to pass on a Christmas cigar. I think I'll pass on the enema as well.
Loki Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 » It's just too cold to smoke, so I'll have to pass on a Christmas cigar. » I think I'll pass on the enema as well. What if you heat up the enema? It could bring the core temp up just enough to make it bearable. LOL Looks like I'll be smoking mine with the dogs. Their room is warm and they love the company.
Shooter Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 I think a day so grand deserves TWO good cigars (at least!). I will start with a gifted Trinidad Fundadores (thanks Boss Hog) and complete the day with either a Cohiba DC EL or a 4 year-old Esplendido. The drink will be some outstanding Rutherglen Muscat.
PigFish Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 If I am not sick as usual on Christmas day, I will be celebrating with either a Taboada custom, a mid-eighties RyJ Churchill (T), or one of the new vintage Bolivar Gold Medals. Choices, choices!!!
El Presidente Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Christmas is a three cigar day. Open up with Pol 1996 and a LGC Medaille D'or No 1 as I hop out of the pool with the kids and await the first of the 28 family members who will decend upon the Ponderosa for lunch. Post lunch it is a Ramon Allones Gigantes and some jammy Sparkling Shiraz as I take up the cricket bat for the traditional Christmas afternoon front yard game (Family members are quite aggressive when bowling to me?). Waving the last of the freeloaders home I light up a Partagas Serie De Connoisseur No 2 or 3 and pour a PX sherry as I sit on the deck and call my 87 year old Aunty and her family in Spain.
Colt45 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 » What cigar are you going to smoke Christmas day? It's looking like it will be in the 40's (F). If that's the case, I will try my first Siglo VI. I will still pass on the enema.
josie67 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 The weather here in the San Francisco area is fairly mild this time of year (probably going to hit 60 degrees or so), so after dinner with the family, it's out to the garage with my wife, brother, and father for a Cuaba Salomones and a glass of Talisker Scotch.
Mel Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 To cold to smoke? I deer hunt and fish year round. I used to complain about the cold when I wanted to go fishing and found myself complaining alot. I decided to buy better clothes. I can sit outside for hours when it is in the teens so I sure can smoke if I want to. I will smoke in the garage and have a propane heater that helps. Cohiba DC EL Toboada DC Sig VI RAG RASS Boli CE and PC ready to go for the Holidays I'm also going to smoke some of those girlie cigars that the Prez like. Lancero and LCG Med de Oro #1 and Part. Serie d #1. Already started the weekend with a Part. SD 4 Reserva. Good Holidays and smokes to all:-)
shrink Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 To cold to smoke? Nah, never too cold to smoke. Especially if you got a hot tub! Started my Christmas celebrations early with a Monte #2, an RyJ Hermoso #2, a Party #2, and an Upmann #2. Just a No. 2 kinda season, I guess. Merry Christmas and Happiest of New Years, y'all!
