Fosgate
Anyone who has been a fan of the original movie would love this game. This is the first Alien game that really grabs the original movie concept, It's absolutely terrifying! How scary is it?
MIKA27
Yep, purchased it on XBOX ONE, have everything turned off, lighting at home, KINECT is on so it can even pick up your voice and it is quite a scary game. The other day I coughed whilst playing it and had by backside handed to me. Amazing what they can do with a game these days and I love the entire franchise. Fosgate
It's for sure not an easy game unlike a lot of others today. One reviewer commented its like the developers hate you and giving you no freebees (You know, how games used to be). At times it feels like you have no options but you have to keep moving or it will eventually find you. Friends kids had never seen Alien before. Let them watch Alien for the first time a few weeks before I got the game and it totally freaks them out yet they cant put it down.
ptrthgr8
I've been eyeballing that game on Steam - I would rather have it on the PC since the graphics would be way better than what I can get on the XBone. But I've never been a fan of suspense-type games. FEAR was pretty creepy, as was Bioshock Infinite, but those were still more action-oriented. Is this Alien game anything more than just trying to run away the whole time? I.e. it's not a matter of fighting, more a matter of sneaking away? If that's the case, it would probably bore me. I like to blow **** up, man! Cheers, ~ Greg ~
Fosgate
It's by all means not boring but yeah, you cant kill it. You can only fend it off for awhile. You start out with nothing and have to try to find stuff to build defensive weapons like McGuyver while avoiding the alien, androids and humans. You find a pistol but it's kind of a last resort kind of weapon since it makes too much noise and quickly attracts the attention of the alien. It is definitely not a first person shooter. It's a horror survival game that puts you in the Alien movie, unarmed, with **** out to kill you. The game is not forgiving. Does not have an auto save (you have to manually save at selected panels in the game) and if you make too much noise, stay in one place to long (Yes you can get killed by spending too much time reading a console or trying to hack a door open), are seen or walk past an open vent where the alien happens to be etc. Well you get the picture. I think the most difficult part is being in the same room with the alien and it is actively looking for you under tables etc and you have to slowly keep moving while avoiding detection. That and just making too much noise (bump something or move too fast) and it's there right now. It's challenging. Sometimes you just don't want to listen to the music but there are times the music gives away the position of the alien as it changes when you are hiding near the alien so it helps but It also causes your anxiety to increase.
