CaptainQuintero Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 News just coming on the BBC saying Cuba will send the doctors, nurses and infection control specialists to Sierra Leone in October and stay for six months.
StingMeadery Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Must be spare ones...as they probably won't make it back ...Ebola and Doctors, don't get on so well
Puros Y Vino Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 So. No CC purchases after these doctors return to Cuba? On a serious note. I wonder what percentage were volunteers vs voluntold? 1
CaptainQuintero Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 The UK has sent military engineers and medical staff to set up treatment centers and waste disposal facilities. I'm pretty sure they were voluntold
mikek Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 You know that is great! The people there are really hurting and it could easily turn into A more global disease. The bad thing we wont hear A word about it here on the national news! I have heard you can get pretty good medical care in Cuba! 1

I'm humbled by the willingness of those who put themselves at risk to ease the suffering of others. Truly brave men and women. Humanism at its best. 1
Hash Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 This is very good of Cuba.I hope they can help those poor countries that lack proper medical facilities. Thank you Cuba.
Murri Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 On the volunteers vs voluntold question. I was visiting an elderly family in Cuba a few years ago when the neighbourhood nurse came in. While talking with her I found out she was being sent to Africa to work, not her choice. It seems the price of her free education was a requirement to work for the Cuban government for a set time period. Her assignment in this case was abroad, not in her home country.
