Rushman Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 For the last few months the small company I work for has been on the market and was acquired this week. I knew there would be redundancies and knew I would be one of them. I will be with the company for 30 more days and then likely leave the island to go back to Mexico mid to late October. The downside is the employees. I had to sit through 6 of my employees get terminated today. I worry about them. Upside is we go back to mexico, start working the cigar biz again until something else comes along. For those of you who didn't get a chance to visit me on the island, plan on hitting up Playa del Carmen soon. We have a new store opening up and this one will have a small area to sit and smoke. The even better thing is there are no limits on the future, only those you impose on yourself. Cheers, rush 3
melies Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Sorry for the unexpected turn on events Rush, but on the upside, "Welcome back to *****mex mate!!!!" We are 2 members again lol!!! I'm sure Everything will be back on track, and hope to see you soon 1
Colt45 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Losing a job can be most disheartening - I hope all your former employees fare well. That you are able to roll with it and continue on is, for lack of better term, a blessing.
Guest rob Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 All the best, mate. As one door closes.... another will open, I'm sure.
madandana Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 It's to bad things like this happen. i'm sure your friends will land on their feet. Good luck with your move and can't wait to hang at your new shop in Playa. Not that the step of your old shop wasn't comfortable.
