Maplepie Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Backwards. Edited out to prevent thread divergence. Normally, my answer is that if i don't have a cutter, i don't have a lighter. So into the tube it goes to await for another day. (All my lighters have punch cutters). However, i've found alternatives for all you other poor souls who straight cut. And what a different alternative it was! Admiring the construction, it's just a standard f*ckn Eppie Two. So to the light: Tmac is right. I'm tasting a part of the cigar i've never tasted before. It's just full on wrapper and gradually gets to the filler. It's a very different taste, i'll tell you that. Like a musty 80 year old man - but in a good way. A dry but moist mildew sensation of questionable health benefits. Something like when you walk into a 70 year old house and a sweet musk hits you. Very green - but again, in a good way. The first 5-7 draws were actually phenomenal. And then it advanced. The rest of the cigar tasted like a normal f*ckn Epicure 2. Except this happened. As you would expect, the cap wasn't there to hold the wrapper together. So it kept unraveling. Would i recommend this? Sure. If you want to be smacked in the face with the taste of wrapper and cuban guy's spit. And then struggle for the rest of the cigar to an unburning wrapper. Essentially, smoke this if you want to concentrate all the flavours of the wrapper into 1/80th of the burning time.
Colt45 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 "How do i cut my cigar without a cutter!?" Score cap with fingernail, pinch off cap. 1
Maplepie Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 Score cap with fingernail, pinch off cap.I normally just puncture the cap with my fang. Sent by the Enigma on BlackBerry.

Colt45 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Use your teeth Teeth (or for those with questionable oral hygiene, tooth) are so early 2000s, don't you think? Nails are back in fashion here in the twenty-teens. When I want to get really showy, I use a toenail. Unless of course I've just had a mani / pedi......

bradbrennan Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I thought maybe you would have kept the band close to the burn to keep it from unraveling... How was the Megaherf, Jeremy...where's your pics???
rascalmonkey Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 last nite i had to burn an Epicure Especial from the head cuz there was an inch long crack just below the head of course it unfurled and was more work than it was worth
Rye Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 BAAHAHAHA! Always an amusing post Jer! It's a good thing I know what a "normal f*ckin epicure 2" tastes like!
mk05 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Real men burn the cap off with a torch. It adds another level of complexity in the charred flavor category. 1

tjohn7 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I thought I was losing my mind when I saw those pictures. Good to know that's an experiment I won't need to perform myself!
