... Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 The emblem is slightly larger on the Reserva band in the picture. However, if fake, they did a stunning job... I feel it is worse when a box is slightly suspect as opposed to blatantly fake. It's harder to get closure on doubt...
Monte8183 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 What are your thoughts on these three? I trust my source but the second ones tip is a little funky to me.
Laynard Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 What are your thoughts on these three? I trust my source but the second ones tip is a little funky to me. Is it just me, or do all three appear to be different sizes? 1
Monte8183 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 The outside two are the same size. The middle one is smaller. The two on the left were lost in the mail for a while so maybe that's why they look different.
Smallclub Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I'm far from an expert, but I think they look gorgeous and I'd smoke them for sure! They certainly don't look like Gran Reserva should look. 1
Smallclub Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 What are your thoughts on these three? I trust my source but the second ones tip is a little funky to me. These are fakes IMHO. btw, you might adjust the balance of greens on the device you used to take these pictures! 2

And both are different than the example of a known real band. Curiouser, and curiouser.
RijkdeGooier Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 The ones I saw and inspected had a reddish hue to the wrapper, which can't be seen through the green overlay. They were pressed pretty tight together and didn't sport different tips.
El Presidente Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Get the original proof of purchase via a receipt or have him contact the vendor directly for confirmation and copy you in. The original seller "merchant" is the key here for peace of mind. 1
monkey66 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Adding another level of detail on Robs comments the receipt should ideally show the box number.
Fshaw Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 What happened to the post from Behike showing the differences between the fake and the real MGRs? Why would someone delete that from this thread? No vendor was implicated but it clearly showed what to look for.

It was not the OP own pictures.

My understanding is that the author of that work /post did not give permission. If permission is given from the original author then I have no problem with it being posted here.
Clynch Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I can solve the band issue if I knew the answer to this question. Would the band on a regular Monte 2 be the same as a MGR? According to the post above me with the comparisons. I do not have an authenticate band. That is if the bands on a Monte 2 and a MGR are the same. here is a picture of a legitimate MGR from my humidor. As you can see the band looks more like the #2 on the right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thank you! Seems like every real MGR that people are posting look the same, but the one from my Vendor is different, yet I'm still being told it's real. Unreal 1
godpheonix Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Man those look good! but the price point is crazy. i don't think its that much better than the montecrito No 2 ( when they are on!) 1
Maplepie Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 damn shame.... not as much discussion here, eh Andrew? finally got around at looking at the images. the 7th cigar from the left is a tad distrubing. other than that, the different shades are as well. what does the community say, now? On top of that, the box looks real enough. i can identify no reason to slam this box. But i remember the bathroom stall festival boxes were also impeccable. did anyone buy one of these boxes and can share their experience? I believe it was something like 100 CUCs so i would've if given the chance 1
nikesupremedunk Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 What are your thoughts on these three? I trust my source but the second ones tip is a little funky to me. These are 100% fake. The color on the band is too brown and the logo in the middle is too fat. 1
Mckucci Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I would love to try one of these, but the shop that sells them around me wants $150.00 per stick... Which I just cant justify spending... Hopefully I'll be able to find them in Cuba when I go this year!
Maplepie Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Hopefully I'll be able to find them in Cuba when I go this year! Er- sold out for 2-3 years, mate. Perhaps look for a box of H Upmann Reservas for 450 CUC Sent by the Enigma on BlackBerry.
