MrGTO Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I have a 13 or 14 box( ill look @ date code when I get home) and they have a really tight draw. Just checking with you guys to see if anybody has had the same experience. The flavor profile was wonderful, creamy to my palate, but I had to work to get it to smoke... I finally gave up on it....
rmill3r Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Wondering if anyone else has had that problem, because I'm on the fence about getting a box. Only thing from JL that I've had is Seleccion No. 2 - liked it but didn't feel like I loved it as much as a lot of other people have told me they have. Can I just expect the same from the PC?

In all fairness, JL just doesn't appeal to me, though I will say the #2 is much better than the PC.
fabes Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I have a BRS JUL 13 box I received from our host. Wonderful JL flavors that are more like the #1 (which I prefer over the #2). Only a couple so far have had a tighter draw, but never did it feel like a chore, nor did it diminish smoke output. All the rest have been spot on. Such a refreshing smoke in the summertime. Zesty citrus for days.
MrGTO Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 I have a box of #2's that I haven't cracked yet. I'll give them a go this weekend. Hopefully I just picked a dud and the rest will smoke great. I just wanted to know if this was the norm for the JLPC rott. If the next one is tight, I will just bury them in the coolidor and check back in a year. I'm just looking for a good young PC to smoke fresh besides my Party Shorts. PC's are perfect time wize for my schedule.
DWC Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 JLPC ABR - ABR '12 box smoked fine. Only 1 tight so far out of about 15 and unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) it was gifted to a friend that wanted to try one. So he never got to see what they're really like. I like 'em. I ordered another box when I noticed I was getting low. I'll probably keep these in my regular rotation. Dan

GingerNinja Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Im loving the recent JL (sure Im a CC newbie) but I went thru a #2 box(AUG13) in just a few weeks. I prefer the #1 size, so just ordered a box (MAR13) got it yesterday n smoked 1 last night n another right now, im stoked! try the BPC, a lot of ppl raving about them atm too!
MrGTO Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 Why don't you try some Bolivar PC, RASCC, or el principe. I don't have any.
MrGTO Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 I smoked another one and it smoked better, not the best , but the draw was way better. I will check back on them in about 3 months and see how they are doing. Seems like I did pick a dud for my first one... Box code is BRS JUL 13
El Presidente Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Construction of JL PC is a concern. Flavour is not. Yet a poorly constructed cigar ..even with whisps of great flavour is a pain in the arse.

Should work wonders on 50/50 examples. 1
mikek Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 The best RJ I smoked young was A box of ten Wide Churchils, dont remember the box code they were from 2013,they were so good I went through the box in about three months! I'll look around in my storage and see if I can find the code. The wrappers were extremly delicate.
mikek Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Why don't you try some Bolivar PC, RASCC, or el principe. You cant beat the RASSCC for A small fresh smoke!
Smallclub Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I don't have any. That's the problem with most goods nowadays: you must purchase them prior to be able to consume them…

potpest Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I'm half way through a BRS Sept 13 box and they've all been fantastic. Agree with dry boxing them a few days though, they don't offer what they should if the moisture content is high.
MrGTO Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 I've had them @ 65rh & a constant 68F so I wouldn't think moisture is a issue, but I'll let a few set out and see. Give a me a reason to smoke more
rmill3r Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Why don't you try some Bolivar PC, RASCC, or el principe. seconding this...got my first box of RASCC and it's a religious experience to say the least. 1
