LordAnubis Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 So what does swiss day celebrate and what do you do? Just get smashed and eat chocolate?
Perla Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 In French fete nationale Suisse, in Italian Festa nazionale svizzera, It's the celebration of the foundation of Switzerland in 1291 and the Rütlischwur (historical date 8 th of November 1307). So it's the Swiss Independence Day with a loads of festivals in the villages, good food, good attitudes and bonfires.
dangolf18 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I have fond memories of this day. Celebrated with Swiss friends back in 2009 in Aargau. Bought a crapload of aerial fireworks which are sadly illegal here in the states.
