Optic101 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion 4 Date: 18 Mai 2014, later afternoon. This cigar is from a HQ sampler from Czar, Nov 2013 (box date 06/2012) Nice dark wrapper, draw just a bit on the loose side, flavorful smell at cold. First third: Tons of smoke, strong in flavor, dark chocolate, coffee, tobacco. Second third: Strength muted and changed to an interval of sweet and dark chocolate. Third third: The dark side is back, strength (flavor) increased, every now and then a sweet spot and a flower flavor comes in. Stable burn, nice ash, lots of smoke throughout the whole time. Smoking time: 1h 20 minutes Drinks: Coffee and Water A wonderful cigar which made it on my personal list to place No. 2, just behind the RR.
Rye Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Thanks for the review! I am trying to source some singles locally to try, and this just adds encouragement!
Colt45 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Perhaps the greatest cigar I've ever had the pleasure to smoke was a RyJ EX4 boxed in SEP 1999 (PT!!) It's great to hear that perhaps current production may be worth investigating. Thanks for the review
Hohenthal Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Always ranked them higher than most other RyJ myself - thanks for the review, cheers, Alex
SurpriseMVP Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 One of my go to cigars. i dont get much chocolate or coffee, but pallets differ. More of a grassy creamy floral note. Mike
kwsaw63 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Thanks for the review. I like to keep these in my rotation and recently re-stocked with a Nov 2012 box. Only had the one stick out of it so far but it was good!
maxcjs0101 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Wow, nice review. May i know whats the box code for these?
Hohenthal Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 This cigar is from a HQ sampler from Czar, Nov 2013 (box date 06/2012) POU JUN 12?
Optic101 Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 Thanks guys for your words. Got a a box at the recent LFTW.
earthson Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Surprised you didn't mention the "red wine" note. My last were from a 2008 box and they all had a distinct element of, say, a fruity cabernet (and excellent consistency throughout the entire box!) 1
Firebender Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Thanks for the review. Guess I am not going to be the only one looking for PSP/HQ box of these on next LFTW
