Agreed. "Going deep" is different for almost everyone. Based on how many do ya smoke and what kinda rotation is going on.

For me 4-5 boxes are absolutely deep cuz I'm not a daily smoker and keen on variety.

Haven't as of yet. But I wish to get like 5 or so boxes of both rascc and the fantastic Bolivar coronas junior. Not that pricey nor htf.

I'm stockpiling Upmann Half Coronas. I think they have aging potential and I like the size. Also Ramon Allones Superiores. I think they have the potential to be as good as RA 898s.

For last year it was Epi 2's, JL 2's and RASS 50 cabs. Need another 50 cab or two of each.

How do you guys stockpile the codes that you like? Or do you just gamble on a particular year?

For instance, say you sample several singles and find something you'd like to add in size to the humidor. In my experience by the time you get the order in, the box from which your singles were drawn is an unknown, and the warehouse you're ordering from has a different month/year/box code on its shelves.

Sometimes I get lucky with older boxes delivered, but it's a random thing and mostly I'm just taking a chance when I order 5 boxes. I don't know if I'm going to get this year or last year or whatever year. And the factory code is a complete random walk!

^ Certain vendors provide box codes and let you specify those codes in your orders. So if you get a box code you like or hear from friends that a certain box code is the ****, then you can look for that code.
