TheGipper Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Bought the Jetlite from Walmart recently based on reviews here, but I find the ignition button to be hard on the finger. Takes a good bit of pressure to press and hold it. This video will help with that. Pretty easy fix and the lighter is much easier on the thumb.
Stogieninja Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Can't help on the current lighters because I won't buy another based on two pieces of crapola I spent good money on three or four years ago. Both of them fell apart after inconsistent lighting issues. Poor construction and would have been overpriced at $4.Bought the Jetlite from Walmart recently based on reviews here, but I find the ignition button to be hard on the finger. Takes a good bit of pressure to press and hold it. 1. Unscrew the bottom 2. Grab the spring under the button with a pair of needle-nose pliers 3. Yank 4. Enjoy your easy-press Ronson Jetlite. You're welcome
PaulP Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 What would that be and where would I find it available for sale? Thanks in advance. Vector
dan5974 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I've always had Colibris torch lighters crap out on me.They usually only last a couple of months.I did however buy a Colibri Bellocosa because I wanted a soft flame with a built in punch being as I mainly smoke 42rg or thinner. This is probably my favorite favorite cigar lighter, and I own a lot of lighters ranging from a $6 Tiger to three ST Duponts. As soon as they make a gold colored Minijet,I'll pick one up.I like gold colored cigar accessories because I like all my accessories to match.Maybe it's OCD.Back to Colibri,I can't speak for the quality of their new torch lighters. Also always use quality quality butane in your lighter. It's worth the extra couple bucks.
TheLandCC Posted Tuesday at 07:30 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:30 PM You want a true torch lighter workhorse? I have not just one or two of these, but close to 10 scattered all around my home. The Xikar Tactical 1. Simple, designed like a tank, and works literally every single time. My secret? I bleed it out after it empties. Use only Xikar High Performance butane. Not a single issue ever. You're welcome. 1
gembob Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I had one that was about 20 years old. I hadn’t used it for a while and when I did again couldn’t get it to light. I reached out to them to see if they could offer any help or direction for troubleshooting. They replied that it wasn’t under warranty as it was the old Colibri brand - I said I wasn’t looking for a replacement or warranty service, just wanted to know if they could possible help me fix it - they never got back to that email so I gave up on them as a brand. That was a soft flame lighter - I also have a CX-20 that was supposedly great at high altitude - it wasn’t. After those two experiences I gave up on them, have had much better cigar smoking experience with Xikar; Xikars, ST DuPont and even zippo inserts have been much more reliable as well.
