Got a box of 22 Churchills stacked two rows of 11. Running out of space and never stored a box sitting on end so the sticks are still horizontal. Has anyone ever heard of any negative effects of storing a box full like this?

All the oils run to the foot of the cigar, resulting in a cigar that's phenomenal for the first half and terrible for the second.

Just joking of course. :). I've never heard of any issues, and do it myself from time to time as part of my Tetris strategy...

Yep, this is a key piece to my Tetris match. I also have a display for my regional edition collection I built into the door of my wineador and I've experienced no bad side effects

It won't make a difference, like you mention the cigars are still horizontal. It'd just be like turning the cigars 90 degrees in the box.

Think about a cab of robustos for example which are pretty much square, it's not going to matter which ever of the 4 sides you place it on IMO.

If there is a problem with storing them vertical, a lot of people who paid a lot of money for jars are going to be pissed!

Over the years I have stored cigars every which way I could, never noticed an issue even after a couple of years on their heads in one case.

The only thing I have seem related to storage is either a box press or ribbon tweaking (where the ribbon in a cab makes a bend in the cigars).

Out of the kindness of my heart I will gladly accept any sticks you are afraid of improperly storing and give them plenty of space to lounge in my wine coolers :)

Come to think of it I don't know why I'm worried. I like to smoke in the company of friends and some them wouldn't know the difference between a fine cigar and a swisher sweet. So I picked up a box of Man O War Double Coronas and a box of Punch Barenuckle on the cheap thinking I would try them. If I really like them I may smoke a few more myself. The box for the Man O War is a bit overbuilt in my opinion with brass corner plates, heavy and kind of odd shape to stuff in the humi.

You don't just lay the jars on their sides? Next question, lid on or lid off? jester.gif
