I was wondering when one comes back from Cuba threw Canada with some CC's do they tax the ones you bring back in customs or are you allowed so many before being taxed?

Hi all from Havana, found the cheapest and fastest Internet in town ... 6 Cookies an hour and fast - times are changing :-- have seen the new Special humidors for the LCDH here, will see if I can at

Glad to hear all is well Nino. Thanks for the pictures. Simple and elegant styled humidors. I see some 3 banded cigars too. Someone page Art!! (aka "Hombre Asiatico")

Today at Museo del Tabaco and later Melia Habana with Jose Antonio and the Irish. Better after a good binge in Old Havana yesterday and Meeting Amir, Magali and Simon Chase at the Nacional for Drinks

Nino is a man who needs no introductions, so allow me to jump straight ahead to some snippets of the visit to the Lung Kong Association.

The Lung Kong Associastion, or refered to the locals as La Lung Kong in Havana. It is where the Chinese diaspora gather. Many if not all of the Chinese in Havana migrated to Cuba decades ago prior to the Cuban Revolution. Economy thrived at that time and like many Chinese who migrated to Vancouver Canada, San Francisco U.S., many did in fact also chose to land in Cuba, for purposes such as seeking a better place to live away from Communist China, and working elsewhere, sending most of their income back home to families.

Many of today's Cuban have Chinese bloodline mixed in, so as other European heritages.

Last November, Nino posted a documentary about the Chinese in Cuba.

That same month, I had the privilege to visit Havana along with the Canadian group. Meeting with the President of the Association, Graceilla Lau, we got to know more about their current situation, and offered to do what we can to help.

Few members of the Canadian group offered to donate some money for supplies in need for the Lung Kong Association. I myself sourced the supplies and brought them over to Havana along with a few Canadian members who were also Chinese. Nino and the group visited the Lung Long on the morning of 25th February to present these supplies and other donations.

Since I had to be on the 'podium' most of the time, I had little chance to take pictures. More pictures and a more detailed blog post will follow after Nino returns to his home.

Is that Jimmy from Sg Nino? Amazing person. Whenever I'm there he looks after myself and my local mate like kings. Even though we only buy a handfull of smokes each time.

What an amazing trip you are enjoying, just spectacular. Absolutely brilliant :)
