One thing I've noticed about the PE, the dark wrappers are Much better smokes. Look for that.

Had dark and lighter wrappers both different codes, I find that for me, oilyness of wrapper has had a greater impact on quality than shade, the lighter ones had a silky thin wrapper with a nice oil sheen, they where all cream and wonderful ROTT, actually both where very good.

My 08 box of PEs had lighter wrappers and there hasn't been a dud in the box. Actually preferred them to my 10 ct box of 06s with dark wrappers.

Darker does not mean better, for the PE, or for any CC. As mentioned above , it's more about oils and the wrapper sheen.

I'll go (slightly) against the grain here and say that Edmundo tubos are very enjoyable. Not all that similar to the sweetness you get in a PE, but an enjoyable cigar in its own right. Dress box Edmundos are not so super in general imo.

I agree, I asked a trusted merchant to send me a box he thought id like. The Edmundos. Jun 13 they are great. They are not strong but flavorfull cigars with coffe, Cream and the bitter sweetness of Monte, interesting floral, and cocoa sweetness to me. Interesting too that the box code is same I see for tubos versions. Just an observation. I would not buy these blind from what I hear. I have to get a 10 of PE to see how they compare.

Agreeing with everybody pe over Edmundo. Bought a box of Edmundo from 1 of czar's sale. Was disappointed the first few sticks but after a year it's turning around but nothin close to pe.

Recently entered into the same discussion elsewhere and as the general consensus is here, PE's win, you can come across a good edmumndo but most PE's will be good with some being bloody good!

Just stuck a box in the humidor.
