Got my box and its labeled with code UPE May 13. When did all the original boxes sellout and more importantly, when did this move into a more regular production? I take it with its success and high ratings, Habanos decided to make this a more permanent "Casa" exclusive, which is not so exclusive afterall?

It is not regular production. It is an LCDH release, and like all LCDH releases, they make their way to internet vendors eventually and don't often get sold out permanently.

Like most recent LCDH releases, they get re-issued every year. Same for LGC Inmensos and RA Superiores. I don't think the original run of the HDM Epicure Deluxe has sold out yet.

I read back when originally released that this would be limited to a grand total of 5000 boxes in entirety not just per year.... this get made me go deep and I bought 8 boxes of the original run but now they're ubiquitous !1

There are always people who you can trade original releases.

Some people even think they are better then other batches, like Behikes but we also have Monte Double Edmundo.

What is the box code on your 8 boxes? If it is sometime in 2011 they are the first release, and as such more sought after.

I do not see subsequent runs diminishing the quality or value ............

how about Bolivar Gold Medal, do they still available?

Yes. plenty. Have not seen or noticed any 2013 boxes though.

They even re-released the Noella jar last year. Annoying that it is not so "limited" anymore as a collectible piece it diminishes greatly in value, but glad more people get to try this cigar....one of the few that I label with "hate"...lol

I'm sure it hasn't yet; if there is a cigar that stays "under the radar" it's the Epicure de Luxe! However it's a good cigar.

You can have better cigars at this price and they are also under the radar. After smoking more cigars you will know that.

I personally love it, despite it being not my kind of vitola. Box 3 is already done - time to start box 4.

Not my kind of vitola either (I hate these sizes actually) but I bought 3 singles and I was I seduced by the quality and cleanliness of the (typical Hoyo) flavors… I will certainly buy a box or 2 soon…

How do the Epi De Luxe compare to the other Epicures? I'm well stocked with Epicure No. 2s but I'm curious if they're different enough to be worth picking up a box.

I love the Epi 2 as well, I know many people find the Epi deluxe to be similar, and they do certainly have that nice, light and easy quality that the Epi 2 has, but it replaces the sweetness of the Epi 2 for a more leathery flavour.

Very nice cigar, and I'm with you guys in that the vitola is not my favorite either, however many cigars that I have had in this vitola, have delivered rich, deep flavours, almost as if they are more concentrated and ready to smoke sooner.

On a different note, I found the petit robusto to taste exactly the same as an epicure especial which are not impressive at all. I was rather displeased that it was just a shorter variant of the EE. HDM just not enough flavor/complexity for me out of the ones I've smoked. Once I crack this epi 2 box I will weigh in on them as well. I think I prefer the french series actually.

Keep us posted. Would love to hear what you think of the Epi 2's. I can't force myself to lay them down. They are smoking great now. Cheers.

Great morning cigar. Not to big not to small, great flavors!
