It offers a wonderful parallel universe to get lost in when you need to escape from reality a little. I've logged every bet since September 2000 and I'm a little bit down but just feel it is important to keep tabs as it is easy to kid yourself…any like minded souls out there on the forum? My favourite bets are NBA Basketball because that's the sport I know best. Also I like and do OK at trading on horses through betfair exchange. I also look for and take advantage of all the promotions, special offers and free tipping comps with large prize pools the online bookmakers offer as they compete for market share. Twitter is good for this. I actually really enjoy the horse racing, especially this time of year. Didn't care for it before I became a punter, but now enjoy it even when not betting (Group 1s that is, not sitting around watching country races on a Wednesday night) I've also banned myself from betting on Soccer & the Olympic games.
