riazp Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Iphone has its place on the market. My dad bought the new 5s and i'll be honest I do like it very much, exellent phone. Iphone6 will finally get with the times and offer a larger screen...rumored at 4.6 inches if i'm not mistaken. but is it just me or is the new Ios 7....Android? All the apple fanboys are creaming when they saw ios7...My phone was like that back when I was running ICS...Looking foward to seeing what kit kat has in store but I highly doubt that update will be availeble on my Galaxy s2 lte...seeing how i'm still running 4.1.2 of jelly bean....
Fuzz Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 ITs better what the hell are you talking about ! Open Source Dominates ! Shhh! I'm trying to be neutral and diplomatic... .... Argh, the hell with it! Droid rules!
bolivr Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Had my S4 for a few weeks too. Loving it , it was easy to transition from Galaxy Ace. Should have made the upgrade sooner.
ZinZan Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I got a query for the camera, i always get blurry photos. My hands needs to be rock solid to get a good photo
El Presidente Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 I got a query for the camera, i always get blurry photos. My hands needs to be rock solid to get a good photo Go to Camera, Settings, scroll down and make sure "Anti Shake" is activated. Works a treat for me. have taken close to a 500 photo's (mostly cigars) and more than happy

So Apple will add another row or two of icons? Be interesting how well it will go over with the 10 year old girls, might be to big for their hands. I have big hands and a 5" screen is pretty darn big, I can't imaging the Samsung Note... Unfortantly the only way to get the newest OS is to have the latest phone or a nexus phone. This is big problem with Android, there are 10 different versions of the OS on 100 different phones. I choose to root and install CM10 on my phones so I can have all the latest goodies. Also if you don't like the look of your phone you can change any part of it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycolorscreen.themer is a new app that makes it easy to change the whole look of the OS. It is in beta and you'll need to sign up for a code but it is so much easier just clicking on a theme then trying to install all the components individually. PS. Swype is the bomb! it is one of the few things I've paid for on my phone.
CdnLimitada Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Contemplating the shift to android as well. Any thoughts on the Sony Z Ultra or the HTC One?
Warren Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Do you need all the fingers? There's always one left over to show to you my friend.
hanhan Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 1. I wouldn't turn the screen on during calls you could end up presssing buttons with your cheek. 2. Swype is the best, can't live without it. Recommended point 1 because prez said "Phone page/screen jumps in and out of calls." This is the power saving function on calls which turns off the screen. If he doesn't want it off, that means he wants it on, no? The screen can easily be locked while in call.
Philprop Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I really like my Blackberry, have had one for the last 4 years or so. Easy to use, keyboard really comes in handy, and pretty damn durable. As a mailman who works in all the elements I need a phone that will handle everything I do and not crap out on me because it got a little wet. And BB does that very well. A good solid phone that does everything other smartphones do.

I have the Iphone 5 and hate the new IOS, Some features are cool but since the update it drains the battery twice as fast. I did the update on my ipad as well and i use to be able to leave my ipad on and in sleep or whatever its called for days and it would lose little battery life. I charged it saturday to full, last night it was at 8%!!! before the update It'd go 2 weeks sometimes more with no use on it and I havent used it at all this week so I was blown away at how bad it is.

gersonmorelli Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Apparently I'm one of the few who didn't like the change and went back. I've had an iPhone since its first version and a couple of months ago tried to switch to a Galaxy S3. The phone itself is amazing, the screen, camera, etc... But Android is def not my thing. Went back to iPhone 5S.
galtline Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Apple had the market by the balls and they threw it all away. When steve Jobs died so did Apple. Open source is the future in technology it has taken over and a proprietary system cannot compete. Droid is growing leaps and bounds over apple now. Its only a matter of time before the phone market is owned by Google. Droid was a brilliant move by Google. New Samsung phones coming:
ramon_cojones Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I guess that's why apple can't sell any iphones anymore.
galtline Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 There will always be the Iphone consumers but Droid in such a short time has flat out dominated the phone market world wide. The phone will grow huge in the open source market while Apple will try to compete. Without Steve Jobs that company to me is a gamble.

I am tough on my phones as I take them with me fishing (top pocket in the Columbia shirt). I find them handy to take that quick fish shot. The S4 Active is waterproof to a meter for up to 30 minutes as well as the ability to take underwater photo's. I took a great underwater picture of a Tailor (bluefish) I brought in two weeks ago. I need to work on my underwater aiming.....I have a great picture of my foot

AlohaStyle Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 The loves: 3. battery life is excellent. Having a 32 gig card is brilliant. Damn, you're lucky. I recently made the change too and I want to switch back to an iPhone simply cuz this phone can't go a day without needing recharging. I actually will be bringing it back to a store to see what the hell is going on. In fact, my low battery alert just beeped at me!?! LOL

I actually will be bringing it back to a store to see what the hell is going on. In fact, my low battery alert just beeped at me!?! LOL I have the S4, there is a known issue with the battery. Some of them are faulty from the get go and last less than a day, I had mine replaced and now it works like a charm. That being said, a phone with such a large screen, when used for gaming etc. will need a recharge sometime in the day. For that I have a usb cable hooked up in my car, also useful for using waze which is known to drain batteries.
riazp Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 All I know is that my S2 LTE battery life is horrendous. A dual core phone was not made to run on a lte network! But hey thats nothing a usb cable at the office cant fix. From what i've read the note 3 has great battery life, and probably one of the best phones on the market currently. Seriously considering Upgrading to this, I'm also considering the new LG Nexus 5. 349.99 unlocked outright, Cheaper for me to buy this phone than the upgrade fees Rogers is charging me on my flextab!
riazp Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 FYI for those insterested...great article on gsm arena comparing the samsung galaxy note 3 vs LG G2 vs Sony Z1 http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g2_vs_samsung_galaxy_note_3_vs_sony_xperia_z1-review-1000p3.php
