MC4 Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 How can you put a RAG & Lusi in a Churchill poll & Leave out the SLR DC? Oh well, I'll take the Bolivar CG over any other. Sorry, you most likely have a point, but no specific reason SLR was left out. I am not the best, qualified person to do these as I am not experienced at all with all the different marcas and vitoals. This is a very un scientific poll, but thanks to all for participating.
CaptainQuintero Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Rarely have time for the big guns but I do enjoy a Punch DC. It's not a Churchill or a DC, however I have no idea this holds for me. Just got it in recently. Could be a new star or dead horse. Hoping to find the time to try some soon. SP Molinos (Lonsdale) GAS ABR '08 Amazing cigar! Real old school habano, enjoy!
MC4 Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 I guess most already knew that Sir Winston's will be the winner, but what is observed is that the RA Gigantes or SLR Churchill did not even get one vote!!! Also the fact that a few discontinued ones got more votes than the two above??!!!
Dbone Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Amazing cigar! Real old school habano, enjoy! Okay, now there's some added anticipation. El Pres picks are always outstanding, and this box follows the trend. Getting excited. Funny story, it took me like 30 minutes to figure out how to fit it into the humidor. Cigar box tetris advanced level. To celebrate the victory of advancing to the next level, I ordered another 50 cigars =) Good problems are headed my way. 1
Charltonc Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I just voted for SLR Churchill, I have a romantic relationship with SLR church ills. 1
frenchkiwi Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Never tasted SLR churchill, but some of my best cigar experiences have been with RyJ churchills, some young, some old. Which reminds me, haven't got any left... Lisa/Diana/Rob...? lol as for the popular Sir Winston, i'm generally not a fan of the H Upmann flavour profile - just a matter of taste.
nikesupremedunk Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Planning to do a comparison review this winter...unfortunately don't have RyJ churchill but got to smoke one thanks to the Blind tasting competition! (And got it right too ) 3 of these sticks will be new to me so looking forward to it! 3
dvickery Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 nikesupremedunk that pic is good enough to go into one of gerards books ... thanks for letting me see it . derrek
nikesupremedunk Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Appreciate it, Derrek. It was just a quick snapshot from my EOS-M. Smoked the Sir winnie today and it was enjoyable, but not sure if it'll be my favorite..we'll see.
AbuAmelia Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Based on this thread, it looks like a box of Sir Winston's order needs to be placed. Been looking to purchase a fine Churchill. 2
Armaniac Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I've never tried the Winnie (that's a must try now based on all the votes). I voted for "other" because I really like the Punch DC.
SoCalSmoker Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Well after smoking an 09 Esplendido in the presence of the original poster who I met last night I will have to go with that one. My preference of churchills seem to be ever changing . Nice meeting you Joseph.
Onsto Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Boli CG with the Sir Winston a very close second. Incidentally, these are also my two favourite cigars. Just finished a 2008 box of CG that have treated me really well.

Looks like I need to start a second humidor, just for the purposes of aging.
asmartbull Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Espy or SW.....whichever I am smoking at the time sent while mobile....
investandprosper Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I had a 50 cab of Bolis from '08 that were dark, oily and magnificent. Never had a better churchill.
