Thank you for explaining. In 0:53 you can see for a very short time the face of Adolf Hitler.

Cool ad.

It's not an ad. Its a the final work of a student and Mercedes-Benz is not very happy with the little film.

Great little film, love the message at the end - Detect ( Prevent ) Dangers ....

No wonder MB is not happy with the subtle messages ... Adof, Braunau & the final swastika, but they should be happy, it's a positive film to make you think.

Proves Godwin's Law as well innocent.gif

My first reaction was a quick "WTF"? But I found it pretty darned funny. I missed the swastika symbolism at the end. Pretty clever stuff. As far as it's film quality - thought it was brilliant.

I'm in between. There are no words to describe the evil Hitler represents, but the willful killing of a child. . . that's a bit much. I would say it's in bad taste. If I were the editor I would have axed the running over of the second child (Hitler) and inserted a full grown Hitler instead. It would have been a better comparison because it shows the humanity of building technology that can protect children and THEN made the statement the director wanted to make in running over Hitler. But running over a child was too much.

Can't see that working out on the telly in Germany.

Struth, that'd be like an ad where Julia Gillard gets toppled by an HR Holden when she was a kid.

Would have prevented a lot of pain but she was still the PM

Uhm, I sort of agree with you...no, I DEFINITELY agree with you! I know all the "what if's" and "suppose's", etc. But the sound of that distraught mother's voice calling her child's name - even if it IS Adolph - yeah, that's pretty negative.

LOL. Funny stuff, but I do agree with Orion. But yes, on the flip side of that, it's meant to be negative and thought provoking. Does it matter that it's a child Adolf? Should that matter at all if it's symbolism of the vile and evil that Adolf embodied??

If it was a teenaged / early 20's Adolf, people might not cringe as much. But the symbolism inserted in there does help. Hard to see where one can insert other politics into this though - as much as you may dislike your current (or past) voted electorate, I don't see how anyone could relate Gillard to Hitler.

Either way, it was smartly thought out and filmed, negative or not.

Of course it's in bad taste, it's meant to be, and still well done and clever. Thanks Perla!
