BehikeLover2
why dont they make their own thing? they look like they could produce some good cigars (for people who like DR cigars).
GFK
There is nothing "fake" about these cigars. They are Dominican Cohibas, not Cuban and are sold as Dominican. No one is pretending otherwise. I personally have never tried them, but they look quiet good and well made.
oliverdst
I don't know Dominican Republic Cohiba cigars but don't they have a completely different ring compared to Cuban Cohibas? Like, a red dot? I guess the black/yellow ring is just in Cuban, right?

oliverdst
Looks like a counterfeit operation to me. I guess you can make more money selling fake Cubans than you can real Dominicans. For sure. You don't have to spend in marketing, for instance. You can sell them for a higher price than you would sell your class c cigar.
canadianbeaver
The box is the diplomat version that I wrote about a few months ago. The band is the fake one and they are putting them in plastic sleeves. The only hilarious thing is that they are bragging about on a video. Other than that it is just fraud pure and simple. jdo2110
I can't pull up any videos on my phone for Some reason, but I did a search on YouTube for something similar so Hopefully I got it right. The store clerk/manager Mentions red dot Cohibas. If that's the case, Then these cigars, as mentioned before are The Dominican version under the same name. If you haven't had them, they are actually very good. What's silly to me about them is that they are Expensive! I think that having the "Cohiba" name Affords them the opportunity to mark up the prices. Again, I can't see the video, so disregard if I'm Talking about the wrong thing. Squarehead
There's a difference between faked Cohibas from the D.R.and the Dominican Cohiba.Completely different label and boxes.I bought a box of the Dom.Cohibas and they were very good smokes. That was about 3 years ago. Dominican Cohiba have completely different bands and boxes, and they're rolled in huge factories, not in the backroom of "la boutiqua fumador"… And look the vid at 1:16 : on the boxes there is a black ribbon or tape, just at the place where should be the cuban seal…
Diamondog
Dominican fauxhibas do not use the traditional cohiba band, there is a brand of cohiba red dot cigars produced by general cigar anything in the DR bearing a traditional cohiba band is a fake using the band to sell, the DR version is an embarrasment to the cohiba name
stargazer14
There are Cohibas with the exact same label as the cubans, but instead of "Habana, Cuba" it says "Dominican Republic", as Diamondog mentioned. (These are NOT red dot cohibas I am refering to) I think this is the cigar they are making.
laficion
THESE,on the video, are so fake ,that It Is disgusting to use the Cohiba name. !!!!!! P.S. The RED DOT Is an awful cigar made by General Cigar. Not Worth their prices.

Gazer, are you positive sure about that?. I could not find any secure reference about that. I only found the red dot ring in reliable websites. I will not mention these websites because they sell cigars and I am not sure if I can post even NC sources. But you can check these ones http://cohiba.com/ https://www.facebook.com/Cohiba https://www.cigarworld.com/products/?b=24#eyJicmFuZHMiOlt7ImNvdW50Ijo1LCJ2YWx1ZSI6IjI0IiwiY2hlY2tlZCI6dHJ1ZSwicG9zIjozfV0sImNvdW50cmllcyI6W10sInByaWNlcmFuZ2VzIjpbXSwiZmxhdm9ycyI6W119 The do not have any kind of black/yellow ring. Diamondog
Any band resembling the cuban cohiba in the DR is a play on the band to sell cigars and not an official product of any kind, general cigar is licensed to use the cohiba name and they have a different band.... canadianbeaver
The issue of Cohiba Red dot, DR bands etc is trumped by the frame of the video here. Note this photo of fake boxes with my dad...
