Magnum 46 or RA Superiores

I'd like to pick up a box of corona gordas as I really like the vitola and there are some really good prices right now. I'm considering a box of Magnum 46 which I like, but certainly wouldn't consider one of my favorite cigars. On the other hand, I've found a good price on a box of RA Superiores, which I have never tried.

I'm hoping people don't mind sharing their thoughts on one or both sticks to help me make my decision.

I'm a newbie so my tastes may change as I gain more experience, but I'd have to say that when done right Monte is definitely my favorite marque.

Do you know the years of the boxes? The '10 Superiores are killer.

No, I don't. I could probably find ouf next week, but I suspect they're recent production.

They only made the RA LCDH (Superiores) in 2010. So the box code should be pretty moot there.

I like the RA much better than the Mag 46 and they are smoking really well for me.

^ They are readily available from '11 as well. I think '12 too. The '10's were the OR I am pretty sure.

I had the original release of the RA Superiores. They are miles better than the HU Mag46.

Definitely made the ra through to 2012, and they have all been very good. Mag 46 on the other hand is imo bland and boring....

I'm a massive RA fan (my favourite marca) but in this vitola I'm going with the mag 46.

08 Mag 46 have been some of the best smokes of all time for me.

Have smoked 4 boxes of 2011 Superiore and have 4 left.

Guess this doesn't answer your exact question but smoke what you like as everyone has their own opinion. On the cigars you mentioned I like both.

Get the Superiores as they are getting harder to find and get the HU Mag 46 later.

Tough one. Superiores have always been great, thick lush complex draw , you have to be lucky to get a really good box of Mag 46's probably because of large production numbers . I have a HQ box from Sep 11 and they are just perfect , spicy toasted tobacco with a hint of bitter chocolate . Two HQ box's in yesterdays twenty great box's post I would grab one of those if still available .

I love me some Mag 46. I have not had the RA though.

There is a beautiful HQ box of Mag 46 from last nights FOH HQ sale. Please buy box A before I do. Good luck on your decision.

I've had so so mag 46 but I've never had an RA Sup that didn't blow my mind ('11 and '10 boxes are my experience)

I like both. The RA has been very consistent. BTW, I am smoking one while I type this Mine are from '12 and will only get better.

Hmm very hard choice. I have a box of '11 Mag 46 I'm halfway thru, and it's been the most consistent cigar I've smoked. Had a couple of RAS's and they were also good, but I'd just pick up both since they're relatively inexpensive.

Seems like the concensus is Mag 46 have to be the right box (i.e., HQ+). If they're not sounds like the Superiores take it, if they are seems like it comes down to taste.

Both are good. The RA has quite a unique flavour profile though. Both are well priced, I know you asked for a choice of one but I vote you buy both!

I give the edge to the RAS but both are very good cigars. I just picked up a 50 cab of Mag 46

RA Superiores for the same reasons as others have mentioned. They are a LCDH release and will eventually be hard to get. Mag 46 is regular production.

You don't get wrong with both.

RA Sup. are very nice, always a good draw, always consistent, on a reasonable price and came along in a box of ten.

Mag 46 never had a bad one. just perfect (good draw, like the flavor and they age very well).

If I have the choice between them I will go for the Mag 46, but this is my personnel choice.
