That would definitley get my vote! Make the teams responsible for keeping the players from being grubs - and when you think about it - they should be.

Deducting points is the only thing that gets attention. Financial penalty is meaningless.

No mirrors in the change rooms..even for a week that would be harsh.

It all seems a long way from Gary Linekar who went his whole career without even one yellow card.

Lineker is a leading contributor to childhood obesity though, so it's swings and roundabouts jester.gif

I've been a Liverpool fan since I was a wee lad and will be until I'm six feet under, but I think we should sack him. I find it laughable that Ian Ayere is saying 10 games seems too harsh. And yes Dafoe did it and did not receive any punishment, but I think this should set a precedent and be a stern warning to others that biting will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Personally, I think he needs his head checked, espcially because this is the second time around for him.

i completely agree though think it probably no fairer to blame south america than to lump guys like barton and rooney on england or any of our idiots on us - i know if anyone thought brain dead grubs like beale represented australia, i'd be miffed. every country has them. add maradona to south america but then guys like messi, pele and plenty more were a credit - or at least as far as i am aware (no one is perfect and these guys are paid for their ability to kick a ball, or hit it, or throw it or whatever - not their IQ).

but much tougher fines and suspensions and fans telling their club they won't watch while those guys are on their books are about the only hope. i'm not holding my breath.

we had the absurd situation of an AFL player who continually parked in the CEO's spot (apparently at head office, they were in short supply or something). he was warned for more than a year. ignored it. as far as he was concerned, bigger than the club, so important (and he is not a bad player but hardly the best in the comp) that he could do what he wanted. club wanted him to re-sign so did nothing. after he re-signs, gets a suspended fine of a grand. he'd be on half to a mil i suspect. if clubs allow this, they end up with morons who do whatever they want and are then stunned to learn the law applies to all (on those occasions it does).

Yep, fair enough, I had no intention of lumping the whole of South America in with these two nuggets...merely lumping the two together as dickheads.

And yes, we have our own, homegrown, collection of dickheads...

There are quite a few Brazilians and Argentinians who play in England, and add positively to it.
