johnnysixtoes Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Bought there in Afghanistan from a Belgium store. They look legit... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
canadianbeaver Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 The product is original from Habanos S.A. HSA: 10.7066.02.0610 Descripcion: COHIBA SIGLO I SLB-VW-GPSR-M-n-25 When I keyed in the UPC code on Trevor's site, this is what came up. However, there will be some comments on the mold on these cigars and what to do about it.
johnnysixtoes Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Wow that was fast! Thanks for the info. Yeah...the mold... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Ophidion Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Wipe it off with a dry tissue. Issue solved. Unsure of why this was posted in suspect cigar subforum...
johnnysixtoes Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Will do. Thank you Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
johnnysixtoes Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 I didnt know if they were real or not. I bought them in Afghanistan. Is that not suspect enough?
pjansen Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Does the scratch marks beneath the box code suggest a recycled box?
johnnysixtoes Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Dont see any scratch marks. I cut the seals before taking the pics. Is that what you mean?
Ophidion Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 There is nothing to go on in terms of them being fake from what I can see. Unless someone else chimes in with something very obscure that I am just totally missing, then I wouldn't worry too much.
pjansen Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Dont see any scratch marks. I cut the seals before taking the pics. Is that what you mean? In your fourth picture did your scratch of a health warning from the back? there are visible scratch marks on the bottom of the box around the box code
Ophidion Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Those are really slight surface scratches and it would take more than that to remove ink from the bottom of the box. Stop scaring the poor kid

Stop scaring the poor kid No I'm not saying they are fake. They look as real as can be. I'm just curious because I have a box of PL Panatelas that have the same scratches and I'm wondering if they are reusing old wood or boxes.
johnnysixtoes Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 It was a "smoking kills" sticker. Quit scaring me now.
pjansen Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 It was a "smoking kills" sticker. Quit scaring me now. Again not trying to scare you. Those are real.
Ophidion Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 It could be that, it could be scratched during shipping... could be anything really. I feel 100% confident that those cigars are totally fine and you will probably enjoy them quite a bit as they look very tasty.
johnnysixtoes Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Well thank you! Haha cant wait for them to sit in the humidor for a while. They're pretty dry. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2

CanuckSARTech Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Wipe it off with a dry tissue. Issue solved. Unsure of why this was posted in suspect cigar subforum... Agreed on both. Eight posts, all here in this subforum - there was really no question proposed in the original post, and it's always nice to get a bit of an introduction going prior to this.
CanuckSARTech Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Oh well. After just reading the other posts, a good rule is that if you questioned them initially ("I didnt know if they were real or not. I bought them in Afghanistan. Is that not suspect enough?"), then simply don't buy them if you're unsure or unable to verify. The best way is to buy from a trusted retailer. Either that, or make sure you absorb all you can from here, and other sources, to educate yourself as much as you can so that you can better make those decisions.
johnnysixtoes Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 Good points. I should have written more in the first post. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2

stargazer14 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Well thank you! Haha cant wait for them to sit in the humidor for a while. They're pretty dry. Thay can't be too dry with all that mold on them.
Ophidion Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Yes they can. That mold could have been there during storage and they dried out in transit.
