Stoyan Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 How are you doing guys. I am flying out of Paris and I am wondering if it's safe to buy cigars from the duty free shops. I saw a nice walk in himidor and they sell only by the box, so I decided to buy on my way back! So what's your opinion? Are they any RE I should try? Thanks
dangolf18 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I was there in June. They have a very small selection and prices were not that great for regular production stuff. I'd recommend the ERDM Petit Compania if they still have them.

The ERDM Petit Compania is very good, and so are the Quai d'Orsay Embajador, the Fonseca Amateur and the Punch Small Club ( )

Love it! Get them if they have them.

Drguano Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I bought a nice box of RA Superiores when I flew out of CDG last April. The wrappers were lighter than an those in the box I already had but the ones from CDG are tastier. French cooking, I suppose.
Stoyan Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Thanks for advices guys. I bought a box of the ERDM Petit Compania. They look very delicious!

Can't remember the price. There is a decent humidor there, with a manger who at least pretends to like cigars, unlike most airport duty frees where they normally don't give a toss. Humidity can sometimes be a little high in there and I have noticed wood-mites in some of the cardboard packs. Still, decent selection of French REs though. I'll be passing through again on Thursday, I'll try to get pictures.
dangolf18 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 The best duty-free cigar selection I've seen was actually in Tel Aviv..out of all places. This was back in '10...in the back room they had some rare stuff and a couple cases of Petrus lol. Nice pickup StanTheMan. Picked up the ERDM as well when I was at CDG in June. Good cigar. Dark wrapper.
