Project humidors are a part of the interest as far as I am concerned. They make a broader statement than a second band, and express and interest and commitment beyond that of writing a check. Bravo mate! Very stylish.

For some of your projects may I recommend hot glue. It has no odor and solidifies almost instantly. It is not as strong as resin or epoxy glues but that is an advantage sometime. Give it a shot.

You've stirred my project into life again. Which is to say I've been pacing the house and itching my head. I'm considering sealing it with a perhaps cm thick layer of Styrofoam then measuring it up and asking custom wineadors if they're interested in crafting me some panels i can stick inside the styro.

It'll be a good excuse to beef up my humidification and what I use to check it.. Currently I have a puck humidifier in a cooler with like 15 boxes in it.. and a small display humidor with perhaps 8 boxes in it.. with a puck and a brick of florest foam.. only thing I have to check humidity is a dodgy humidity dial on the display humidor.. Anyone want to recommend a system or anything feel free

Just do it, give it a try and rectify as you move along. Hardest part is to start any projects like this.The rest is fun...

My mother had the same kind of trunk. It's all lined with spanish cedar. You really gave me an awesome idea. When I sell the current house and I have more space, I may build myself one.

Itching my head still. The interior of my chest is all awkward.. it has a rounded lid and it has braces in the middle of the chest as well. Think I'm just going to take some photos and ask Wineadors if they're interested in doing inserts and for advice.

I really need to get motivated for peice of mind storing my precious cigars properly Then I need to get a decent himidifying system/read... then a lighter and cutter that aren't dodgy.

That's an awesome looking chest Andrew !!!

As for the the rounded top, I would not know how to line that part with cedar. There are a lot of woodworking forums around. Maybe post on one of those for advice. Keep me posted if you decide to go forward with these.
