Reevzy Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Obviously cigars are a lot of peoples "hobby" around here. My main thing is music and my guitars. Show us your guitar(s) or any instrument you play for that matter, drums, keys, French horn. This is my Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 Hybrid It's one of a hundred made where it's a mash up of gold and silver hardware from the 22 and 24 fret models, it also has pickups from the 24 as opposed to the plated pups from the 22. Cost me an even 5 gorillas This is my PRS SE Angelus acoustic, made in Korea and only cost me just the one gorilla and not ten like the USA made one. Had this one set up professionally and it plays like butter. This is my Line 6 JTV 59. It digitally models a bunch of different guitars like Les Pauls, Strats, Tele's, even stuff like acoustic guitars, a banjo, sitar, dobro. It's a total blooz machine. Cost me 2 gorillas. This is my Ovation Limited Edition from 2010, number 16 of 50, this guitar really brought out my true style and away from playing metal covers all the time, it made me a better person! Cost 3 gorillas And this last one is my latest, a Blueberry custom made grand concert acoustic that was hand carved in Bali out of Balinese rosewood and Alaskan cedar, then assembled by a luthier in Canada. Took five months to build and cost 3 gorillas, not every traditionalists cup of tea but I absolutely love this thing, a work of art. So there you go. Playing these guitars gives me a very powerfull feeling when I play them, I slip away into another world and without blowing smoke up my own arse, I honestly get blown away by some of the music I make sometimes, it's always been inside me and now it's all coming out. They are one of the few things in my life that make me truly happy and proud of myself. I've been playing for 15 years and I'm loving it more than ever right now. Thankyou for looking. I'd love to see some photos of your guitars or whatever instruments you play, perhaps even some tube clips?? Have a good'n and rock on!
Dara Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 My Takamine semi-acoustic. I'm still a work in progress with regards to learning to play properly but find it relaxing !
Reevzy Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 Nice! I was gonna get a Takamine 12 string but I ended up with an Ovation that I had for a while. Noticed your into aircraft. I fly planes when I'm not buying guitars and cigars. Three bank breaking hobbies right there
bobbutcher Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Don't really play a guitar, but I did make a cigar box guitar and cigar box amp, think it turned out ok for my first attempt. 2 pickups with 3 way toggle switch with volume and tone pots and preamp. 1
Reevzy Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 Haha, that's awesome! Looks like the sorta thing you could get your knee slapping to around the fire!
Diamondog Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Les Paul, I'll snap a pic of my accoustic later.
bassman Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Rickenbacker 4001 & Gibson Grabber basses, from early 70s & mid 60s. Play the Rick every day. Gibson is back up.
canadianbeaver Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 The pride of my son Jeff's 3 guitars

DougB Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Wow. that is some nice line-up of PRS guitars...I play a neck-through body 80's Guild 4-string and a 3/4 upright. Workingman's 15 amp with a David Gage transducer for the upright.

If I had that last one I don't think I would play it, wayyyy too bling bling, I would have a custom air tight glass display made for it and it would be relegated to a show piece. Beautiful guitar, it's really stunning. I have not ever seen that much craftsmanship go into a guitar My YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/aod013 I only do simple stuff for YouTube because I don't want to do a billion takes or cutting and pasting when I record stuff. I try to keep it stupid simple.
Colt45 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 A few quick pics: Guild JF30 and Goya G17 Peavey Vandenberg, 1981 Mesa Boogie MKIIB, 1975 Fender Stratocaster 1981 Les Paul Standard, Boogie, 1983 Flying V (pick guard added by me...)

I like your 'Micheal Schenker' guitar! The pick guard is a nice touch that makes it look unique
Colt45 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I like your 'Micheal Schenker' guitar! The pick guard is a nice touch that makes it look unique Unfortunately, some idiot (me) yanked the jack through the front of the guitar - I decided on the pick guard as a cover up
IcedCanuck Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Unfortunately, some idiot (me) yanked the jack through the front of the guitar - I decided on the pick guard as a cover up lol, bummer dude. Out of curiosity how much alcohol was involved when that incident occurred?
canadianbeaver Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 So Jeff saw the photo I posted and said he has traded one of the guitars for a newer Les Paul (for him)
IcedCanuck Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 So Jeff saw the photo I posted and said he has traded one of the guitars for a newer Les Paul (for him) What FX pedal is that? Looks like maybe a Digi-Tech or ZOOM
Colt45 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Out of curiosity how much alcohol was involved when that incident occurred? Zero !LOL! I stepped on the cord, and even though I had it wrapped through the strap, I caught it in such a way that it pulled right through.
canadianbeaver Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 What FX pedal is that? Looks like maybe a Digi-Tech or ZOOM Digitech RP500 Whatttevr that is
IcedCanuck Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Digitech RP500 Whatttevr that is It's a nice FX pedal that I wish I had
IcedCanuck Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Zero !LOL! I stepped on the cord, and even though I had it wrapped through the strap, I caught it in such a way that it pulled right through. That really sucks bro. I did not know it was possible for that to happen. One of my guitars plugs in the front like that; I am going to be careful with it now when I have it plugged in.
Erm310mce Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Great guitars everyone! OK, I took some quick camera shots of some of my favorite guitars, I'm terrible with a camera: '86 Les paul Custom, my favorite guitar that I've logged the most miles on, my old reliable, always delivers. Rickenbacker 360.....beautiful tone, like no other guitar. I've used this guitar in the studio a lot to add a unique tone. It sings when you plug it into an old Vox AC30 My steinberger GR4, one of the only Bergers with a wood body, this one is maple with a graphite neck. Lots of fun! One of those.... the harder you work it the more responsive. That tremolo is fantastic always stays in tune. My Taylor 310mce, like my forum handle. This is a unique Taylor with a Mahogany top, Sapele back and sides, great sounding dreadnought. And finally the guitar that made me stop buying guitars. My James Goodall Grand Concert, East Indian Rosewood back and an Adirondack Spruce top, my perfect guitar. I don't really play much electric anymore and my ears thank me. I mostly play fingerstyle and this is a great instrument, very heavy overtones and really lush open sound. Very lucky to have it! It love lowered tunings like DADGAD and some of the Hawaiian slack tunings, which I'm having fun with! I don't really gig anymore, I'm all washed up! I just play for fun and what I love about the guitar is the more you play it and understand different genres etc, the more you realize how little you know about it. It's quite the journey. Cheers guys....
