gostgost Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I've seen a lot of new rules and laws but this one takes the "CAKE" Celebrating birthdays at school just got a little less fun for kids in Australia. New guidelines issued Tuesday by the country's National Health and Medical Research Council say that children can no longer blow out the candles on cakes at school because doing so spreads too many germs. This was in Yahoo news US http://shine.yahoo.com/parenting/australian-kids-banned-birthday-tradition-school-181900033.html
bobbutcher Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Also staff working in child care centres will now need to wash all toys, door handles and cushion covers daily.
Hubba Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I'm surprise they are allowed to have lit candles to blow out.....
cigcars Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I took my neice (when she was 8) to the Border's Books Store and back where they have that little play area for small fries. First; she's too "sophisticated" for that area..."That's for kids!" she says. Next, I just happened to scoot one of those ring blocks on the swirly wire, and she orders me to go wash my hands. I look puzzled at her and she goes, "Do you know how many kids touch that thing?"
Puros Y Vino Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Wow. How did the human race ever evolve and thrive? IMO it's this paranoia over germs that makes people's immune systems weaker. If the immune system doesn't get a good workout it doesn't know how to handle infections over time.
