have not seen this latest disaster but have read as many reports as i could find. deans has, yet again, done the impossible and led us to an even more dire position.

HE MUST GO.

a while back, someone suggested this was not his fault - not entirely perhaps, but he has proved himself an absolutely incompetent coach. no idea. for those of us who suspected that humphrey bear could have coached the crusaders to their success, looks like that was right. his own richie mccaw put in the final nail in his coffin, telling the world that he opted for henry as all blacks coach when asked, and not deans (for reasons that are so obvious even now), even though deans was his coach at the crusaders at the tme.

and whether or not someone else might do better is no longer the issue - we simply cannot and will not do any better while this bewildered, egotisical dimwit is in control.

sure, we've had injuries, so do many other teams - but when you keep losing to teams like scotland and samoa and ireland and so on, then lord save us, because deans won't.

how many useless, pointless, stupid selections must we endure? mccabe as a leader of this team and in a position for which he is so obviously unsuited? dave dennis? record numbers of combinations because in five years, we cannot settle, cannot find a workable combo anywhere and have no idea (oh, and because we are rebuilding - the pyramids took less time), no back-up open flanker to the world cup, when pocock actually went injured?????? phibbs as a half. and on and on. a monkey with a dartboard could do better.

as far as i can see, plan A is to pass it to pat mccabe who will run forward between 1 and 5 metres (pat mccabe being the least imaginative, most one-dimensional player in wallaby history). he will be tackled - he has the footwork of a telegraph post so not that difficult to line him up. we then hope enough forwards can actually retain the ball until pat mccabe is in postion for another 1-5 metre run.

repeat step B with forwards. do this repeatedly in the hope we get close enough to get awarded a penalty (because we have no idea of how to score a try or the balls to take a field goal) and hope we don't give away a penalty or turnover posession, though we understand that either of those are more likely than us holding possession or scoring any points.

at least the defence has a plan B.

plan A is to really hope that they don't score.

plan B is to really really really hope that they don't score.

as silly as cooper was with his comments, looks like he just might have been right. there is no culture, no atmosphere, no team spirit, no cohesion, no support. if deans had a shred of decency, he'd have paid cooper's fine and appeared before the tribunal on his behalf.

still, if he had a shred of dignity or integrity, he'd have resigned long ago.

the legacy of that gibbering moron o'neill will be to have almost single-handedly destroyed australian rugby.

both deans and o'neill should be driven from the country and effigies burned.

It was highly embarrassing talk about the "STUMBLING WALLABIES"

Nearly as bad as the cricket team , but more than likely WORSE

While i agree that it is time for Deans to go, i do think that the players are also to blame. I just dont see the urgency, the pride, the passion in the wearing the green and gold. Sure the coach has an input into attitudes but the players themselves have a say as well. Just look at the All Blacks. Doesnt matter who the coach is.. the NZ players have a pride and the passion in wearing the silver fern that our boys just never seem to have.

A classic example is the recent big loss to the All Blacks (22-0) and the pictures of our guys laughing and chatting with them after the game. This just highlights the lack of passion and pride. Getting done like that should piss you off and make you want revenge.

Does this look like someone who is gutted by a loss...

just straight up embarassing on the part of the wallabies. At no stage did we look like we were a threat...completely lacking in any type of will to win...for christ's sake if they want someone to pass it over a team mate's head give me a jersey.....

Have absolutely no clue wtf you are talking about but the paragraph space is your friend.

Capitalization wouldn't hurt either :P

I think the burning question is where new talent will come from. There seems a large disconnect between local rugby and the Super 15(?) teams.

This relates to the need to have a tier 3 compitition in Australia. Much like the NPC in New Zealand or the Currie Cup in South Africa.

Deans = GAWN

Lack of passion starts with the man at the top. The players have little if any belief in him and it shows on the track. Shake up required urgently.

Fire Deans by all means but it won't solve this year's problem - injuries and player depth. Wallabies have generally not had adequate replacements with only a couple of players injured but half a dozen? Incl. the worldclass Genias & Pococks? New, inexperienced, and second-rate players forced into new combinations - any good performances will only be blips on the radar. Picked France to win by 13+ last week and no surprises. Look at the teamsheet! On paper they could maybe squeeze past Italy, but France and England? Coming close will be an unexpected but welcome over-achievement, like the dead rubber draw against the ABs.
